Mobile DPF Cleaning in Lezant, Cornwall
With mobile DPF cleaning, we travel to the vehicle. No body shop, no filter going anywhere. A technician drives out to your address over in Lezant, clears the diesel particulate filter in place, carries out a DPF regeneration, and you end up with the filter you came with.
Nobody sets off until the figure is settled by the phone. The visit lasts typically around 2 hours and the clean opens from £299.
Written for the state most callers are in: the light on already, the vehicle starved for power, and the job still to arrange.
The DPF light is on. What now?
Not the DPF, always. Opening thing to say. Treatment is not where a visit opens. A check is — a number of faults appear as the same light.
The use you manage in the meantime tells. That is the next thing.
- Amber light, motor even now driving fine — a long constant run can yet sort it alone. Costs zero, and worth attempting before you book anything.
- Vehicle already gone into limp mode — that window has closed. A drive will not touch it now.
- Get it looked at rather than using it — diesel in the cabin, or smoke on hard acceleration, has gone past the long-run stage.
What the vehicle has been warning you
Belated news, the light. The symptoms usually build for weeks before it appears:
- dropping away on power, particularly uphill
- you notice the revs never reach where they used to go
- economy that is worse than it used to be
- without a word, the stop/start bows out
- diesel in the cabin, or smoke on the way up through the gears
None of that is proof on its own. Alongside the light alongside them, the filter is a fair guess.
Choked diesel particulate filters round Lezant, and the why
Lezant is a rural hamlet, and the motoring that goes with one is the poorest type for a DPF. Think about an ordinary week: Trekenner Community Primary School and home again, Sportmans Close at a standstill before the hour, a quick trip to M&S Foodhall, a run to Gunnislake. Not much there goes on long enough or is hot enough to finish a regeneration. The unburnt soot collects rather than burning away.
Neither is a long way from Lezant: under 50 miles to the M5, under 25 miles to Plymouth. Neither is on the way to anything most weeks, though, so the drive that would clear a filter hardly ever comes.
DPF regeneration, and the stage limp mode stops it
What limp mode amounts to is the vehicle protecting itself. The entire problem is that a long drive works by triggering a regeneration, and under limp mode the revs will not climb and power is held down.
So the common advice to take it up the motorway is good advice, up until the day it is not. The filter needs cleaning rather than road work once the motor has gone into limp mode.
The car stays put for mobile DPF cleaning round Lezant
The filter does not budge. That is the part most drivers do not anticipate: the job is done with the DPF still bolted to the motor, on your driveway, in a work car park, any place the vehicle can stand for a few hours.
A diagnostic goes first — running data off the ECU, soot load by percent and by weight, and a look over of the sensor readings, glow plugs and connected components, so other faults are cleared before a thing is touched.
Soot and ash that a regeneration by itself will never move are lifted second, by a cleaning fluid fed through the entry point on that motor, which spreads inside the filter. Sometimes a filter is clogged enough to require doing twice.
Next, a regeneration clears everything the clean lifted. That is a monitored drive out of Lezant if you are present, or a static regeneration where the vehicle sits, with the running data read afterwards.
Then a second scan, confirming the change, resetting the warning light and noting anything still logged. Both reports are sent over, so the before and after figures are kept.
Where treatment is not the solution
Treatment cures one thing: a filter choked with soot and ash. It does nothing for:
- the wrong figure from a temperature sensor
- EGR valves that jam open
- the AdBlue system failing
- glow plugs or injectors stopping the regeneration completing at all
- turbo problems, with oil getting into the filter
Finding that out is the first scan's whole job. You are let know before all work gets going, not after you have paid, where it turns out to be one of those.
DPF renewal is what people search for, but no part is replaced: the filter you already own is treated where it sits and sent back into service. Nor is having it gutted a remedy, since the MOT then fails and driving becomes unlawful. Two more things worth knowing.
DPF cleaning costs in Lezant
Cleaning starts from £299, with the call-out charge on top of that for every visit — it covers the call-out, the booking, the checks and the advice.
Quoting a flat rate would not be straight. We agree it over phone, once the car and its probable needs are clear. What you run and where you are both shift it: Lezant itself, out at Trebullett, or farther out within the PL postcode area.
A clean that will not help is not cleaning you pay for, and the scan is what says so. Because the visit, the check and the advice have taken place, the call-out charge still stands.
If the light returns inside that period, an engineer comes back out to Lezant — the clean comes with a 30-day warranty taking in aftercare.
Quick and easy to book, arrived same day, not had an issue since the clean was complete (been a month now) - would recommend.
Excellent customer service knowledgeable and very efficient booking service. Professional and friendly technician - good to see a customer focused company these days. Would recommend to others.

Where we travel around Lezant, and what we clean
The filter is done in place on all of them: private cars, panel vans and light commercials, HGVs and lorries, plant machinery, farm vehicles. Nothing is taken anywhere.
Our engineers are along Sportmans Close week in week out, so Lezant is hardly ever a special trip, and the same run picks up Trebullett, Woodabridge and the villages out past Treburley. Call anyway from even further out around Cornwall. Coverage runs UK-wide, and the day you are given comes down to the diary rather than how far away you are.

Questions Lezant drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Is a long drive enough alone?
- Soon enough, and with the vehicle out of limp mode, yes — sometimes. It wants a steady run at motorway speed, not five minutes to M&S Foodhall and back.
- How long does the visit run?
- It is typically around 2 hours. A heavily loaded filter can require a second clean, which extends that.
- How much does it run to in Lezant?
- The call-out charge covers the visit, the diagnostic and the advice; cleaning itself starts from £299. Both the vehicle and where you are move it, which is why settling it is done by phone.
- Have I need to be there?
- No. The vehicle needs a spot to stand for a couple of hours; nobody expects you to stand with it. The regeneration can be run as a monitored drive if you would sooner come along.
- When can someone come to Lezant?
- That comes down to the diary, but it is often same-day or next-day. Phone 0303 330 1830 and you will learn what is open across the PL area.
- Is the filter lifted off the vehicle?
- On the on-site service, no: the filter is cleaned in place. Lifting a filter off or bolting one back on come to anything a job we do whichever way.
- What if the light comes back?
- Included by the 30-day warranty: aftercare, and an engineer travelling back to Lezant.
