Mobile DPF Cleaning across Lees and Derbyshire
With call-out DPF cleaning, we drive out to the vehicle. No body shop, no filter leaving. An engineer drives out to your place across Lees, treats the diesel particulate filter where it is, runs a DPF regeneration, and you end up with the filter you arrived with.
Nobody sets off until the figure is fixed on the phone. The visit runs typically around 2 hours and the clean opens from £299.
Most owners find us with the light on already, and the car down on power. That is exactly what this page is meant for.
What to do when the DPF light shows
First thing: it is not automatically the DPF. That light can follow a number of faults, not just one, so the visit begins with a scan and not with treatment.
The use you do in the meantime counts. That is the other thing.
- Worth a shot before you ring anything: amber light, vehicle driving fine, just one steady run, no cost.
- A drive will not reach it now — limp mode means that window has already closed.
- Get it looked at rather than driving it — diesel in the cabin, or smoke on acceleration, has gone beyond the long-run stage.
What the motor has been showing you
Symptoms have normally been growing for some time before the light ever appears. Belated news, in other words:
- climbing uphill, the power tails off
- you notice the revs stop short of where they used to go
- the fuel consumption is worse
- the stop/start without a word packing in
- a diesel smell in the car, or smoke under hard acceleration
Alone, none of that is conclusive. Next to the light, it is a fair assumption the filter is blocked.
Why diesel particulate filters block near Lees
For a DPF, the worst motoring is the sort you get around a village such as Lees. Not one bit of it goes on long enough or runs hot enough for the filter to complete a regeneration: the school run to Long Lane Church of England Primary School, The Green crawling at half past eight, five minutes to The Co-operative Food, the run to Tutbury & Hatton. Instead of burning off, the soot banks up.
The M1 lies under 15 miles from Lees, Derby under 10 miles away, and unless something pulls you out that way routinely, full weeks pass without the long steady run that empties a filter. Geography does not assist.
Limp mode, and when DPF regeneration gives out
It is self-protection: that is all limp mode is. The real catch is that a sustained drive works by triggering a regeneration, and once in limp mode the revs will not pull and power is capped.
Sound advice, that motorway run — up until the moment it is not. In limp mode you are beyond that line: treatment is what will do it, not more miles.
Mobile DPF cleaning where the vehicle stands round Lees
The filter does not leave it. That is the detail most drivers do not anticipate: the job takes place with the DPF even now fixed to the vehicle, on your front, in a work car park, anywhere the car can stand for a couple of hours.
The ECU is read first, reporting soot load by proportion and by weight, along with a check of sensor readings, glow plugs and associated components, so nothing is touched while another fault is still in play.
Soot and ash that a regeneration alone will never shift are freed after that, by a cleaning solution put through the access point on that vehicle, which expands inside the filter. Where the filter is severely blocked, expect a second pass.
Next, a regeneration clears everything the clean freed. That is a monitored drive out of Lees if you are present, or a static regeneration where the car sits, with the real-time data read once done.
Finally the scan runs again — the change verified, the light cleared, anything still outstanding written down. Both read-outs arrive with you by email, so the numbers are on record.
What a DPF clean will not touch
Only one fault is answered by a clean: the filter blocked with ash and soot. It does nothing for:
- a pressure or temperature sensor showing a blockage that is not there
- an EGR valve held open
- a problem in the AdBlue system
- faulty glow plugs or injectors, so never a regeneration ever completes
- the turbo putting oil into the filter
Finding that out is the first scan's job. Turning out to be one of them means finding out it before the work gets going, not after settling up for it.
DPF renewal is what people search for, but no part is exchanged: the filter you own is cleared where it sits and returned to use. Nor is having it hollowed out a remedy, since the MOT then fails and driving becomes illegal. Two more things worth bearing in mind.
The cost of DPF cleaning around Lees
A call-out charge holds whatever the outcome, and takes in the visit, the booking fee, the diagnostic and the advice given. Treatment itself begins from £299.
The number is agreed by the phone, once we know the vehicle and what the filter is going to need. No flat rate could be truthful. The car changes it, and so does the address — Lees, Longlane, or somewhere further out in the DE postcode area.
You are not charged for a clean that the check says will not help. What nonetheless applies is the call-out charge, since the visit happened, the diagnostic was done and the advice was offered.
The job carries a 30-day warranty taking in aftercare, including an engineer coming back out to Lees if the light comes back inside that window.
Zoltan was amazing, courteous very professional and polite, he's given my Dads car a new lease of life as he needs the car for his Cancer treatment. Dad and I thank Zoltan for your work. A real gentleman. Thank you.
Had Dan and kieran here today to look at my car credit to your company very polite and professional service they gave would highly recommend them gave honest review of my car problem.
Turned up as arranged and investigated the problem including running diagnostics. Turns out dpf was ok. Very helpful in pin pointing the problem.
Where we get to near Lees, and what we clean
The one on-site service covers private cars, vans of any size and light commercials, heavy goods vehicles, plant machinery and farm vehicles, and on every one the filter is done in place rather than taken anywhere.
Most weeks there is already someone on The Green, so Lees seldom means a detour, and Longlane, Churchbalk and the spots past Langley Common are on the way. Coverage reaches UK-wide, so even further out around Derbyshire is still worth a call, and what settles between today and tomorrow is the diary rather than the distance.

Things Lees drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Is a long drive enough on its own?
- Sometimes, if you catch it in time and the motor has not fallen into limp mode. That calls for motorway speed for a steady stretch, rather than a brief trip to The Co-operative Food.
- Does the visit take long?
- That is typically around 2 hours, though a badly loaded filter can need cleaning twice, which adds time.
- How much does it run to around Lees?
- Starting from £299, with a charge for the call-out that covers the check and advice on what to do next. Both the vehicle and where you are shift it, which is why settling it happens by phone.
- Must I be there in person?
- You need not stand with it — the vehicle just needs a spot to sit for a couple of hours. Travel along if you like, and the regeneration becomes a supervised drive.
- When can someone get to Lees?
- That hangs on the diary, but it is often same-day or next-day. Phone 0303 330 1830 and you will know what is free across the DE area.
- Will the filter be taken off?
- On the call-out service, no: the filter is treated in place. Lifting a filter off or putting one back on amount to anything something we do whichever way.
- Suppose the light comes back?
- Taken in by the 30-day warranty: aftercare, and an engineer heading back to Lees.
