Langtree Week Mobile DPF Cleaning, Devon

The workshop in practice moves to your place in Langtree Week, and the motor sits where it is.

Your car isn't driven off and the DPF doesn't need to come off. The technician drives a fitted-out working van to you, treats the unit in place, carries out the regeneration and wraps up the job there. You'll be given the price prior to anybody setting off, from £299, and you're without the vehicle for about a couple of hours.

Expect this from a DPF treatment visit in Langtree Week

The fitted van needs somewhere to park and an engine that can be run periodically.

Beyond that, it runs the same sequence throughout:

  1. You get a proper figure for the soot load prior to any cleaning getting going — read off the vehicle's ECU by weight and percentage, with sensor feeds and glow-plug circuit looked at while it's hooked up.
  2. You can't burn ash out with a regeneration, so the agent goes in through the access point on that car and opens out inside the unit.
  3. You decide whether that happens where the vehicle stands or as a monitored trip out of Langtree Week; either way the regeneration burns off whatever has been freed.
  4. Last comes a follow-up scan. It confirms the change, clears the warning light out, and writes down anything that's still unresolved.

Both sets of figures are forwarded afterwards, so the start and finish figures are documented.

Where the cleaning can take place around Langtree Week

There is no unusual condition beyond room to sit for the length of the job.

Most people already have somewhere that does:

  • At home over in Langtree Week, on the drive
  • A company car park
  • Any unused corner of a forecourt you can use
  • A corner off Town Meadow
  • The Co-op Food customer car park while you do something else

The DPF never comes off the vehicle, so there is no call for you to stay with it.

Diesel particulate filters round Langtree Week, and what chokes them

If you drive around and out of Langtree Week, a small village, you're serving the filter exactly the journeys it copes with worst. The filter has to have heat and it needs time, and gets neither. Driving to Langtree Community School and Nursery Unit, crawling on A386 before nine, running to Co-op Food, running to Chapleton — nothing there runs long enough or climbs hot enough to complete a regeneration cycle.

Geography doesn't help either. The M5 is under 50 miles from Langtree Week and Exeter sits under 50 miles away, so unless something regularly takes you out in that direction, weeks go by without the long unbroken drive that scours a filter.

By the time the light comes on, the signs have generally been building a while: pull dropping away, revs that will not climb as they should, a diesel whiff in the interior or black smoke under acceleration, worse fuel use, and stop/start giving up silently.

What on-site DPF cleaning fixes, and what it does not

Exactly one fault is answered by a treatment: the DPF choked with ash and soot. The check distinguishes that from everything else that puts the same light on an instrument panel, and it is done ahead of anything being touched to the vehicle.

A clean will not touch:

  • A sensor reporting a blockage that is not there
  • An EGR valve jammed open
  • A failure in the AdBlue system, on the models that carry one
  • Glow plugs or injectors blocking the regeneration running
  • Oil working through the filter from a faulty turbo

Where any of those proves to be the fault, we tell you in advance rather than after you have paid.

A couple more worth bearing in mind. Having the unit cut out is not a remedy — a vehicle without a serviceable DPF will fail its MOT and driving it is against the law. And the work is sometimes described as DPF renewal: nothing is replaced, your original unit is treated in place and put back to work.

The cheapest thing to attempt first

It costs nothing to try, and on a lightly loaded DPF it normally works. under 50 miles separates Langtree Week and the M5, and that is the run to make, running the pace even. The longer route into Exeter serves too. Ten minutes to Langtree and home does not.

Once the light is on and the car has dropped into reduced power, that window has gone and an on-site cleaning visit is the sensible next thing.

What on-site DPF cleaning costs around Langtree Week

Mobile DPF regeneration begins from £299. You also cover a call-out fee on each visit. It takes in the travelling, the booking, the diagnostic scan and the steer you are offered.

No single figure would be truthful, so the figure is given over the phone once we have the car and what the DPF is going to need. Langtree Week itself, over by Berry Cross, or the far side of the EX postcode area — where you sit feeds in, and so does the motor. Both are settled before anybody sets off.

Aftercare is not an add-on; it falls under the 30-day warranty the work includes. If that warning light's back during the period, you'll have an engineer out to Langtree Week again.

Which vehicles do we clean DPFs on near Langtree Week?

The on-site work handles:

  • Cars of any model
  • Light goods vehicles and panel vans
  • Your HGV vehicles
  • Plant equipment
  • Agricultural vehicles and machinery

You're not driving anything to us: on all of them the DPF is cleaned in place, at your door over in Langtree Week.

A car that will not turn over blocks the mobile option. A garage detaches the unit instead, a carrier collects it, and our premises cleans it within a day of reaching us. We do not take off or refit units for both services.

I was very worried about DPF issues with my Audi A4 and Nic from DPF fixer did a great job. In around an hour he did a test, flush and regen. He was very professional and helpful. Worth the money, I hope, if the issue doesn't come back.

James B.

"They consistently delivered high-quality work, showing strong attention to detail and professionalism in every task. I would highly recommend them for any role requiring reliability, expertise, and a strong work ethic. ".

Craig C.

Daz was awesome, so knowledgeable and friendly, knew just where the problem was and how to sort it. Cannot recommend enough.

The EX area and Langtree Week: our coverage

You are on a run we already drive: A386 carries our engineers most weeks, and the same run includes Langtree Week, Berry Cross, Peters Marland and the villages out past Langtree and Taddiport.

Further out across Devon, the call is still worth making. You are not limited by the journey. Coverage reaches UK-wide, and it is the local diary that governs whether it is today or tomorrow.

On-site DPF cleaning in Langtree Week: common questions

How much time am I without the vehicle?

Two hours or so, unless the filter's severely blocked and has to be done twice.

How much is call-out DPF cleaning in Langtree Week?

On top of a price starting from £299, the visit, the check and the guidance are covered by a call-out fee. The vehicle and your location both move the price, so we price by phone.

Do you drive to home addresses and offices?

Either, right across Langtree Week or the surrounding Devon area. Cleaning takes place on the vehicle, in place, and the unit is never removed.

How fast can a technician get to me around Langtree Week?

Depending on the week's diary, the same day or the next is the typical answer. Across the EX postcode area, what is free moves daily, so ring 0303 330 1830 and we will say where it sits.

What if the problem is not the unit after all?

You'll cover the call-out fee regardless, because the DPF engineer has travelled out, read the motor and told you what's genuinely wrong. What you will not see is a bill for cleaning that did not take place.

What happens if the DPF light comes back?

The 30-day warranty extends to aftercare, including a DPF engineer driving back to Langtree Week.

After the clean, how long will it hold up?

That comes down to how the vehicle is run afterwards. Allow it a decent run now and then — out past Exeter, or along the M5 — rather than short trips over to Berry Cross.
