Mobile DPF Cleaning in Lamanva and Cornwall
With mobile DPF cleaning, we drive out to the vehicle. The technician turns up at your door in Lamanva and starts. The diesel particulate filter is cleaned still on the car, a DPF regeneration follows, and you keep the filter you arrived with.
You'll have a price by phone before anyone goes, the clean starting from £299, and the visit taking typically around 2 hours.
If the light is already on and the motor is low on power, this page is for you. That is how most owners get to us.
The DPF light is on. What then?
It could not be the filter at all. That is the opening thing. A check happens before all cleaning, because that same panel light has a number of candidate faults behind it.
How the motor is handled in the meantime makes a difference too.
- Worth a try before you ring anything: amber light, vehicle driving normally, just one steady run, no charge.
- Vehicle already gone into limp mode — that window has gone. A drive will not touch it now.
- Stop planning long drives and get it seen to if the interior reeks of diesel or there is black smoke when you press on.
Signs the vehicle has been giving you
Symptoms have usually been mounting for some time before the light even appears. Belated news, in other words:
- falling off on power, above all uphill
- the revs no longer rise the way they used to
- the fuel consumption is down
- a stop/start that has silently given up
- diesel in the cabin, or smoke on the way up through the gearbox
None of that is evidence by itself. Next to the light, it is a fair assumption the filter is full.
The explanation diesel particulate filters block near Lamanva
For a DPF, the poorest driving is the sort you get across a rural hamlet such as Lamanva. A regeneration wants the time and heat, and has none: not on the school run to Mabe Community Primary School, not on Penwarne Road at half eight, not on a few minutes to Argal Farm Shop, and not on the hop to Penryn. Instead of burning away, the unburnt soot collects.
Neither is a long way from Lamanva: over 50 miles to the M5, under 10 miles to Truro. Neither is on the way to much most weeks, though, so the drive that would empty a filter hardly ever happens.
DPF regeneration, and the point limp mode stops it
What limp mode amounts to is the car defending itself. The entire problem is that a sustained drive works by starting a regeneration, and once in limp mode the revs will not climb and power is capped.
So the usual advice to run it up the motorway is sensible advice, up until the day it is not. In limp mode you are past that stage: cleaning is what will do it, not more road work.
Where the vehicle stands is where the DPF is done across Lamanva
Nothing leaves the motor. That surprises people. The DPF sits fixed where it is and the work is done around it, on a forecourt, in a works car park, anywhere it can wait for a few hours.
Nothing is started until other faults are eliminated. That involves a diagnostic first: live data off the ECU, soot load by percentage and by mass, and a review of the sensor feeds, glow plugs and connected hardware.
After that comes the clean itself: a cleaning solution in through the motor's own access point, opening out inside the filter and freeing what a regeneration never can. Heavily blocked filters sometimes need a second pass.
A regeneration comes next, driving off what the clean has lifted. Either it is done as a monitored drive out of Lamanva, with you there, or it runs where the vehicle sits and the real-time data is checked once done.
Then a second scan, proving the change, resetting the warning light and logging anything still outstanding. Both sets of figures are emailed, so the before and after figures are kept.
When a DPF clean is not the fix
Only one fault is cured by treatment: the filter blocked with ash and soot. It does nothing for:
- sensors, temperature or pressure, reporting a block that is not real
- the EGR valve held open
- a fault in the AdBlue system
- injectors or glow plugs that stop a regeneration starting in the first place
- the turbo putting oil into the filter
The first scan is there for exactly that. You are told before all work starts, not after you have settled up, should it turns out to be one of those.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter hollowed out fails its MOT, and driving it is against the law, so that is no remedy. What gets typed in as DPF renewal swaps nothing: your filter is cleaned in place and goes back into service.
DPF cleaning costs in Lamanva
Every visit takes a call-out charge — getting to you, taking the booking, running the check and offering the advice. The clean itself begins from £299.
Once we are told what you run, and about what the filter will want, the price gets fixed over phone. A single price for every job would not be straight. Whereabouts you are counts as much as what you run: Lamanva itself, Treverva close by, or farther out in the TR postcode area.
Where the scan says treatment will not work, you are not billed for treatment. You nonetheless pay that charge: someone travelled, carried out the check and gave you the advice.
If the light comes back inside that window, an engineer heads back out to Lamanva — the job comes with a 30-day warranty covering aftercare.
Zoltan came to our house today to fix our DPF. He arrived promptly, gave us all the information and was absolutely professional and knowledgeable. He was friendly and explained everything he did so we fully understood. He's an asset to your company.
Managed to clean the DPF in my Range Rover Evoque whilst in limp mode and get it back on the road in 2 hours. Ashley was knowledgeable and did a cracking job.
Excellent work by the technician (Dave) and his trainee. Great result and done so quickly. Very polite and knowledgeable gents. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of using this service. Thanks guys.
Vehicles we clean, and where we reach round Lamanva
One mobile service takes in private cars, vans and light commercials, HGVs, plant machinery and agricultural machinery, and on every one the filter is treated in place rather than carried anywhere.
Engineers are along Penwarne Road week in week out, so Lamanva is seldom a detour, and the same run takes in Treverva, Trenoweth and the spots out past Budock Water. Coverage is UK-wide, so further out through Cornwall is even so worth a phone call, and what decides between today and tomorrow is the diary rather than the distance.

Questions Lamanva drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Does a long run clear it?
- Sometimes, if you spot it in time and the motor has not slipped into limp mode. That requires motorway speed for a long spell, rather than a brief trip to Argal Farm Shop.
- How long does the visit run?
- It is typically around 2 hours. A heavily loaded filter can need a second clean, which lengthens that.
- How much does it cost around Lamanva?
- The call-out charge takes in the visit, the scan and the advice; cleaning itself begins from £299. Settling it is done by phone, since what you run and where you sit both shift the figure.
- Have I need to be there?
- The vehicle requires a spot for two hours or so. Nobody expects you to be in it. Come along if you prefer, and the regeneration is done as a monitored drive.
- Travelling to Lamanva — how soon?
- That hangs on the schedule, but it is often same-day or next-day. Call 0303 330 1830 and we will tell you what is available across the TR area.
- Does the filter come off the car?
- Done where it sits, on this service, so no. Taking a filter off or putting one back on come to anything something we do in either direction.
- And if the light returns?
- Aftercare comes inside the 30-day warranty, and that includes an engineer returning to Lamanva.
