Mobile DPF Cleaning covering Kimmeridge, Dorset
With mobile DPF cleaning, we drive out to the motor. A fitter comes at your place over in Kimmeridge, treats the diesel particulate filter while it is still on the motor, performs a DPF regeneration, and you end up with the filter you came with.
The visit runs typically around 2 hours, the clean begins from £299, and the figure is settled on the phone before anyone sets off.
Most drivers find us with the light on already, and the car low on power. That is the situation this page is aimed at.
What to try when the DPF light is on
The DPF is not always what is at fault, and that leads. A diagnostic comes before all work, because that same dash light has plenty of possible faults behind it.
It counts what you manage with the vehicle between now and the visit.
- Amber light, vehicle yet driving as normal — a long even run can yet sort it on its own. Costs nothing, and worth trying before you ring anything.
- That window has closed once the motor has fallen into limp mode. A drive will not do it now.
- A diesel smell inside, or black smoke under the throttle, is the point to stop planning long drives and ring.
Before the light, what the motor was telling you
Symptoms have generally been mounting for a while before the light ever arrives. Belated news, in other words:
- power tailing off, especially climbing uphill
- the revs no longer rise the way they once did
- the fuel consumption is poorer
- stop/start quietly packing in
- a diesel smell in the car, or smoke under the throttle
None of that is proof on its own. With the light with them, the filter is a fair guess.
Why diesel particulate filters clog near Kimmeridge
Kimmeridge is a coastal village, and the driving that belongs to one is the worst kind for a DPF. The school run to Corfe Castle Church of England Primary School, Grange Hill at a crawl at half eight, five minutes to Sainsbury's, the dash to Wareham — none of it goes on long enough or is hot enough for the filter to see through a regeneration. Soot that should clear banks up instead.
The M27 sits under 50 miles from Kimmeridge, Salisbury under 50 miles out, and unless something carries you out that way often, full weeks pass without the sustained run that clears a filter. Geography does not assist.
DPF regeneration, and the stage limp mode ends it
What limp mode amounts to is the motor protecting itself. Power is limited, the revs will not rise, and the regeneration the filter wants can no longer happen — which is the real difficulty, because a proper drive works by setting off that regeneration.
Sound advice, that motorway run — until the point it is not. Past that point — limp mode — driving will not manage it, and the filter needs a clean.
On-site DPF cleaning where the motor stands across Kimmeridge
The filter does not budge. That is the detail most drivers do not anticipate: the job is done with the DPF still fitted to the vehicle, on your driveway, in a work car park, anywhere the vehicle can wait for a while.
A check happens first — live data off the ECU, soot load by proportion and by actual weight, and a look over of the sensor readings, glow plugs and associated components, so other faults are cleared before a thing is cleaned.
A cleaning fluid after that is injected through the access port on that car, spreading inside the filter to free soot and ash a regeneration alone will never shift. Sometimes a filter is blocked enough to need doing twice.
Then a regeneration, to clear what the clean has lifted. Either it is done as a monitored drive out of Kimmeridge, with you there, or it is done where the motor stands and the live data is read afterwards.
A second scan verifies the change, puts out the warning light and logs anything still open. Both read-outs are sent over, so you keep the before and after figures to hand.
The faults a DPF clean cannot cure
One thing is what treatment answers — a filter choked with soot and ash. It does nothing for:
- pressure or temperature sensors reporting a restriction that is not there
- an EGR valve jammed open
- AdBlue system problems
- glow plugs or injectors blocking the regeneration completing in the first place
- a turbo pushing oil through the filter
That is what the first check is for. Turning out to be one of them means learning it before the work begins, not after settling up for it.
A couple more worth bearing in mind. Leaving the filter gutted is not a remedy — a vehicle without a working DPF fails its MOT and driving it is an offence. And cleaning is sometimes searched for as DPF renewal: nothing is replaced, your own filter is cleared in place and sent back into use.
The price for DPF cleaning across Kimmeridge
Any visit carries a call-out charge — getting to you, making the booking, running the check and giving the advice. The clean itself starts from £299.
Quoting a flat rate would not be truthful. We settle it on the phone, once the vehicle and its likely needs are clear. The vehicle moves it, and so does the address — Kimmeridge, Creech, or anywhere further out in the BH postcode area.
You are not billed for treatment that the scan says will not help. The call-out charge even so stands, because the visit, the scan and the advice have taken place.
The work carries a 30-day warranty covering aftercare, including an engineer travelling back out to Kimmeridge if the light comes back inside that window.
Really good service. Everything explained clearly. Pointed out some other engine issues to check out which was very helpful. Expensive compared to other companies but with the 28 day warranty I felt happy to pay to get the best service. Couldn't fault the engineer he was excellent.
Dan and Rob attended to my vehicle. I was kept informed prior to their arrival. When they arrived they analysed my car and pointed out the faults. They did the job in just over an hour and advised me on post cleaning tips. I thought DPF service was very professional.
Thank you Igor for resolving the dpf issue with my vw cc on 15.7.24. Kudos to the back office team as well for answering my questions beforehand. Vroom, vroom!
Where we get to around Kimmeridge, and what we clean
A single on-site service takes in cars and estates, vans and light commercials, heavy goods vehicles, plant and construction machinery and agricultural vehicles, and on every one the filter is cleaned in place rather than taken anywhere.
Kimmeridge is seldom a special trip: engineers are working Grange Hill most weeks, and the same run picks up Creech, East Creech and the spots out past Church Knowle. Coverage is UK-wide, so farther out through Dorset is even so worth a phone call, and what decides between today and tomorrow is the schedule rather than the distance.

Frequent questions on DPF cleaning around Kimmeridge
- Is a long drive enough alone?
- Sometimes, if you spot it early enough and the motor has not slipped into limp mode. A sustained run at motorway speed is what it needs — not five minutes flat to Sainsbury's and back.
- The visit lasts how long?
- It is typically around 2 hours. A severely blocked filter can require a second clean, which adds to that.
- What does it come to across Kimmeridge?
- Treatment begins from £299, and the call-out charge on top takes in the visit, the scan and the advice. The vehicle and your address both move the price, so we quote on the phone.
- Have I got to be present?
- No. The motor needs space to wait for a couple of hours; nobody expects you to stand with it. Come along if you prefer, and the regeneration becomes a watched drive.
- When can someone get to Kimmeridge?
- Depending on the schedule, often same-day or next-day is normal. Ring 0303 330 1830 and we will let you what is open across the BH area.
- The filter — does it come off the car?
- Not on the call-out service — it is done where it sits. Neither job — a filter off, a filter back on — is not something we do.
- And if the light reappears?
- Included by the 30-day warranty: aftercare, and an engineer heading back to Kimmeridge.
