Mobile DPF Cleaning covering Kents, Cornwall
With call-out DPF cleaning, we travel to the vehicle. A technician comes at your address across Kents, clears the diesel particulate filter while it is still on the car, performs a DPF regeneration, and you keep the filter you started with.
The visit runs typically around 2 hours, the clean opens from £299, and the price is settled over the phone before anyone sets off.
The light is on already and the motor is short of power — that is how we normally come across people, and what this page deals with.
The DPF light is on. What next?
First thing: it is not always the DPF. Plenty of faults put the identical light on the same panel, which is why a visit opens with a check rather than with a clean.
The driving you manage in the meantime tells. That is the second thing.
- Amber light, vehicle still driving normally — a long even run can still sort it by itself. Costs zero, and worth attempting before you book anything.
- A drive will not touch it now — limp mode means that window has now shut.
- A diesel smell inside, or black smoke under hard acceleration, is the point to stop planning long drives and ring.
Signs the vehicle has been showing you
By the time the light arrives, things have usually been slipping for a while. It is belated news:
- dropping away on power, above all uphill
- the revs no longer pull the way they once did
- the fuel use is down
- without a word, the stop/start gives up
- a diesel smell in the cabin, or smoke under acceleration
Alone, none of that is proof. With the light with them, the filter is a fair assumption.
Clogged diesel particulate filters around Kents, and the reason
For a DPF, the least kind use is the type you meet across a coastal area such as Kents. The school run to Jacobstow Community Academy, Southcott Meadows at a crawl at half past eight, five minutes to Lidl, the hop to the nearest station — not one bit of it goes on long enough or gets hot enough for the filter to complete a regeneration. What should clear remains.
The M5 stands under 50 miles from Kents, Plymouth under 50 miles off, and unless something pulls you out that way often, whole weeks slip past without the long steady run that empties a unit. Geography does not assist.
Limp mode, and when DPF regeneration gives out
It is self-preservation: that is all limp mode is. The entire problem is that a proper drive works by starting a regeneration, and under limp mode the revs will not climb and power is capped.
Running it up the motorway is the standard advice, and it holds up to a limit. In limp mode you are past that point: treatment is what will work, not more road work.
DPF cleaning at the vehicle across Kents
Nothing leaves the car. That throws people. The DPF stays bolted where it is and the work goes on around it, on a drive, in a works car park, wherever it can sit for two hours or so.
First a check. Real-time ECU data, the soot load as a percentage and as a mass, the sensor readings, the glow plugs, the related components — all of it taken before anything is touched.
Next comes the clean itself: a cleaning solution in through the motor's own access point, spreading inside the filter and freeing what a regeneration cannot. Sometimes a filter is loaded enough to require doing twice.
Next, a regeneration clears everything the clean loosened. That is a monitored drive out of Kents if you are along, or a static regeneration where the car stands, with the running data checked after.
Finally the scan runs again — the change proven, the light put out, anything still open written down. Both read-outs arrive with you by email, so the numbers are on record.
What a DPF clean will not cure
Cleaning answers one thing: a filter clogged with soot and ash. It does little for:
- pressure sensors reporting a restriction that is not there
- the EGR valve held open
- an AdBlue system failure
- failed glow plugs or injectors, so never a regeneration ever starts
- oil coming through the filter from a worn turbo
The first scan is there for precisely that. If it is found to be one of those, you are told before any work starts rather than after you have handed over for it.
DPF renewal is what people search for, but no part is swapped: the filter you already own is cleaned where it sits and put back to work. Nor is having it cut out a solution, since the MOT then fails and driving becomes illegal. Two more things worth bearing in mind.
What DPF cleaning comes to across Kents
Cleaning opens from £299, with the call-out charge on top of that for every visit — it takes in the call-out, the booking, the scans and the advice.
No flat rate would be straight, so the number is agreed on the phone once we know the vehicle and what the filter is apt to need. What you drive and where you are both change it: Kents itself, over at Wainhouse Corner, or further out across the EX postcode area.
You are not charged for cleaning that the check says will not help. You still pay that charge: someone came out, ran the diagnostic and gave you the advice.
If the light returns inside that period, an engineer comes back out to Kents — the work carries a 30-day warranty covering aftercare.
The service was very prompt, courteous and efficient, and the car is now running better than it has for ages. The engineer, Liam, was professional and very helpful, filling me in on the details of what was done clearly and concisely. I can thoroughly recommend the company.
I had Kieran unblock my DPF today, can't fault him. He called me before he arrived to let me know he was on his way, explained everything to me before and after!
Baz (the DPF Technician) was absolutely superb; he was knowledgeable, polite and informative. Importantly he cleaned and restored my DPF such that my car performance returned to normal.
The vehicles we clean and the patch we cover near Kents
The filter is treated on the vehicle on all of them: private cars, vans and light commercials, heavy goods vehicles, construction and plant machinery, agricultural machinery. Nothing is taken anywhere.
Kents is hardly ever a special trip: engineers are along Southcott Meadows nearly every week, and the same run covers Wainhouse Corner, Trengune and the villages out past Jacobstow. It is the schedule, not the distance, that settles whether it is today or tomorrow, and coverage extends UK-wide — so ring even from further out through Cornwall.

Common questions on DPF cleaning across Kents
- Is a long drive enough by itself?
- Sometimes, if you spot it early enough and the motor has not dropped into limp mode. That means motorway speed for a steady spell, rather than a short trip to Lidl.
- The visit takes how long?
- That is typically around 2 hours, though a badly loaded filter can need cleaning twice, which adds time.
- The cost around Kents — what is it?
- It starts from £299, plus the call-out charge paying for the visit, the check and the advice. Pricing is done by phone, since what you run and where you live both change the figure.
- Have I got to be present?
- No. The motor requires somewhere to sit for a couple of hours; you need not stand with it. If you would prefer to come along, the regeneration can be carried out as a supervised drive instead.
- How soon can someone get to Kents?
- That hangs on the calendar, but it is often same-day or next-day. One ring to 0303 330 1830 and you will know what the EX area has open.
- Is the filter taken off the motor?
- Not on the call-out service — it is treated where it sits. Neither taking a filter off nor bolting one back on is work we do.
- Suppose the light reappears?
- Aftercare sits inside the 30-day warranty, and that includes an engineer returning to Kents.
