Mobile DPF Cleaning around Jordans and Buckinghamshire
With call-out DPF cleaning, we come to the motor. Your motor isn't taken away and the filter doesn't budge. An engineer arrives at your place over in Jordans, clears the diesel particulate filter fitted to the vehicle and runs a DPF regeneration.
Budget for the visit lasting typically around 2 hours. The clean begins from £299, fixed on the phone before anyone sets off.
The light is on already and the vehicle is down on power — that is how we usually meet people, and roughly what this page covers.
DPF light on? What to do
The DPF is not always what is to blame, and that leads. Plenty of faults put the very same light on the same dash, which is why a visit opens with a diagnostic rather than with treatment.
How the vehicle is run in the meantime makes a difference too.
- Worth a shot before you ring anything: amber light, car driving as normal, just one constant run, no cost.
- A drive will not shift it now — limp mode means that window has already shut.
- Diesel smell in the cabin, or black smoke under the throttle — stop booking long drives and get it seen to.
Signs the motor has been giving you
By the time the light shows, things have generally been deteriorating for a while. It is last news:
- power dropping away, above all climbing uphill
- the revs no longer climb the way they always did
- the fuel use is down
- the stop/start quietly giving up
- the cabin smelling of diesel, or smoke when you press on
That is not proof by itself. With the light, it is a fair assumption the filter is full.
Why diesel particulate filters choke round Jordans
For a DPF, the least kind motoring is the kind you find across a rural village such as Jordans. None of it runs long enough or gets hot enough for the filter to see through a regeneration: the school run to Jordans School, Wilton Lane crawling at half past eight, five minutes to M&S Foodhall, the hop to Seer Green & Jordans. What should burn off stays put.
The M40 stands under 3 miles from Jordans, St Albans under 15 miles off, and unless something carries you out that way often, entire weeks slip past without the long unbroken run that empties a filter. Geography does not oblige.
DPF regeneration, and the point limp mode ends it
Limp mode is the car defending itself. A sustained drive works by triggering a regeneration, and that is just what limp mode rules out: power held down, revs held down, no regeneration available.
The usual advice — get it up the motorway — is sensible, right until it is not. Once the car is in limp mode you are the far side of that point, and the filter needs a clean rather than driving.
DPF cleaning at the motor across Jordans
Most people do not anticipate this detail: the filter stays on. The job happens with the DPF yet fitted to the vehicle — on your drive, in a work car park, anywhere the motor can stand for a few hours.
Nothing is started until other faults are eliminated. That involves a diagnostic first: running data off the ECU, soot load by proportion and by mass, and a review of the sensors, glow plugs and associated hardware.
A cleaning solution then goes in through the entry point on that vehicle, spreading inside the filter to loosen soot and ash a regeneration alone will never shift. A second pass is sometimes required on heavily loaded filters.
A regeneration is next, burning off what the clean has loosened. Stay with the motor and it becomes a monitored drive out of Jordans. Drop it and the regeneration is done on the spot, with live data verified once it is done.
Then a second check, proving the change, clearing the warning light and logging anything still outstanding. Both read-outs are emailed over, so the before and after figures are kept.
Where treatment is not the solution
Only one fault is fixed by cleaning: the filter choked with ash and soot. It does no good for:
- a temperature or pressure sensor showing a block that is not there
- the EGR valve held open
- a failure in the AdBlue system
- a regeneration that simply never completes, because of glow plugs or injectors
- the turbo putting oil into the filter
Finding that out is the first check's whole job. If it proves to be one of those, you are warned before any work gets going rather than after you have paid for it.
Cutting the filter out is not a fix: without a functioning DPF a vehicle fails its MOT, and driving it is against the law. DPF renewal is the phrase people look up, though nothing is replaced — your existing filter is cleared in place and put back into use. Two more worth bearing in mind.
DPF cleaning prices around Jordans
Every visit carries a call-out charge — coming out to you, making the booking, running the diagnostic and offering the advice. The clean itself begins from £299.
Not one flat rate would be straight, so the number is agreed on the phone once we are told the vehicle and what the filter is going to need. Two separate things change it: what you own, and where you are — Jordans itself, over at Chalfont Grove, or further out in the HP postcode area.
A clean that will not work is not cleaning you pay for, and the diagnostic is what says so. You still pay that charge: someone travelled, did the scan and gave you the advice.
The clean includes a 30-day warranty taking in aftercare, including an engineer heading back out to Jordans if the light returns inside that time.
Highly recommend DPF fixer, Jason done excellent job, informed us what he was doing, throughout job and told us what all the readings was when he finished. If u need a DPF clean these are ones to call. Super fast service and good price too.
Great communication from the fixer, let me know in advance of his eta and work was done efficiently he then explained what the diagnostics meant, really friendly and helpful, great service.
Had a clean. Didn't fix problem. Came back out. Still didn't fix the problem. Wast of time and £400.
The vehicles we clean and the area we take in near Jordans
The filter is cleaned where it sits on all of them: cars and estates, vans of any size and light commercials, HGVs, plant and construction machinery, agricultural vehicles. Nothing is taken anywhere.
Jordans is hardly ever a special trip: our engineers are out on Wilton Lane most weeks, and the same run takes in Chalfont Grove, Wilton Park and the villages out past Chalfont St Giles. Ring anyway from even further out through Buckinghamshire. Coverage runs UK-wide, and the day you are given hangs on the calendar rather than how far away you are.

What Jordans drivers want to know about DPF cleaning
- Can I merely take it for a long drive?
- Sometimes, if you get it early enough and the car has not slipped into limp mode. It takes a sustained run at motorway speed, not five minutes or so to M&S Foodhall and back.
- About how long does it last?
- It is typically around 2 hours. A severely loaded filter can need a second clean, which lengthens that.
- Price across Jordans — what is it?
- It starts from £299, plus the call-out charge taking in the visit, the check and the advice. We quote on the phone, because the vehicle and your address both change the figure.
- Is it necessary for me to be around?
- Somewhere for the vehicle to sit, for a couple of hours, is all that is wanted. Not you. Wanting to be there is no problem: the regeneration then runs out on the open road, monitored.
- When can someone travel to Jordans?
- That depends on the diary, but it is often same-day or next-day. Ring 0303 330 1830 what is open across the HP area.
- The filter — does it leave the car?
- Cleaned where it stands, on this service, so no. And neither does lifting a filter off nor fitting one back on is work we do.
- What if the light returns?
- The 30-day warranty takes in aftercare, including an engineer heading back to Jordans.
