Mobile DPF Cleaning across Iping, West Sussex
The car sits where it is — on-site DPF cleaning travels to it. A fitter turns up at your place over in Iping, cleans the diesel particulate filter while it is attached to the car, runs a DPF regeneration, and you hold on to the filter you came with.
Nobody travels until the figure is settled over the phone. The visit runs typically around 2 hours and the clean begins from £299.
Most owners find us with the light showing, and the motor short of power. That is the position this page is aimed at.
What to try when the DPF light shows
It might not be the unit in the end. That is the first thing. A scan goes before any treatment, because that same dashboard light has a number of candidate faults behind it.
Second thing: how you handle it between now and then counts.
- Motor yet driving as normal on an amber light — attempt a long even run first. It costs nothing at all and often sorts the filter without assistance.
- Motor already dropped into limp mode — that window has closed. A drive will not reach it now.
- Diesel smell in the interior, or black smoke under hard acceleration — stop arranging long drives and get it seen to.
The vehicle has been warning you already
The light is late news. By the time it appears, the symptoms have usually been growing for some time:
- less power, especially going uphill
- an engine whose revs will not climb as before
- fuel consumption going worse
- a stop/start that has silently given up
- diesel in the interior, or smoke on the way up through the gears
That is not evidence alone. The light alongside them points at a blocked filter.
Clogged diesel particulate filters near Iping, and the reason
The day-to-day driving that comes with a rural hamlet like Iping is the poorest sort for a DPF. The school run to Stedham Primary School, Iping Lane at a standstill at half past eight, ten minutes to Sainsbury's, the dash to Liphook — not one bit of it lasts long enough or runs hot enough for the filter to complete a regeneration. What should clear stays put.
Unless you have a routine reason to head out to the Waterlooville Bypass, under 15 miles from Iping, or out to Chichester under 15 miles away, entire weeks slip past without a long steady drive. Geography is unhelpful.
DPF regeneration, and the point limp mode ends it
What limp mode comes down to is the car defending itself. A sustained drive works by starting a regeneration, and that is just what limp mode blocks: power capped, revs held down, no regeneration on offer.
So the usual advice to get it up the motorway is sensible advice, until it is not. Once the motor is in limp mode you are beyond that line, and the filter requires a clean rather than driving.
Where the vehicle stands is where the DPF is cleaned round Iping
On your drive, in a work car park, anywhere the car can sit for a few hours: the job is done with the filter yet fitted on, which is the detail most people do not expect.
Nothing is touched until other faults are ruled out. That means a diagnostic first: live data off the ECU, soot load by proportion and by actual weight, and a review of the sensor readings, glow plugs and associated hardware.
Soot and ash that a regeneration alone will never budge are lifted after that, by a solution fed through the access point on that car, which expands inside the filter. Where the filter is badly clogged, plan on a second pass.
Next, a regeneration drives off everything the clean lifted. That is a monitored drive out of Iping if you are along, or a static regeneration where the car stands, with the real-time data checked once done.
Then a second diagnostic, verifying the change, clearing the warning light and listing anything still showing. Both sets of figures are sent over, so the before and after figures are recorded.
Where a clean is not the answer
A filter blocked with soot and ash is the one thing a clean answers. It will not help:
- pressure sensors flagging a block that is not there
- a jammed EGR valve
- AdBlue system problems
- faulty glow plugs or injectors, so no regeneration ever runs
- the turbo putting oil into the filter
Finding that out is the first scan's purpose. You are let know before any work starts, not after you have handed over, if it turns out to be one of those.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter gutted will fail its MOT, and driving it is illegal, so that is no solution. What gets looked up as DPF renewal exchanges nothing: your filter is cleaned in place and goes back into work.
What DPF cleaning comes to in Iping
A call-out charge applies whatever happens, and pays for the visit, the booking fee, the diagnostic and the advice offered. The clean itself starts from £299.
Not one flat rate would be truthful, so the number is fixed over the phone once we know the vehicle and what the filter is apt to need. What you drive and where you are both change it: Iping itself, out at Trotton, or farther out across the GU postcode area.
Where the scan says treatment will not do it, you are not asked to pay for cleaning. The call-out charge still stands, because the visit, the diagnostic and the advice have been done.
A 30-day warranty includes aftercare on the clean, and that includes an engineer travelling back out to Iping if the light reappears inside the window.
Logan fixed my problem quickly and efficiently. I was very impressed with him and DPF Fixer. I will recommend the company in future.
Professional service. Sorted the problem out left me a breakdown of potential problems on the vehicle so pre-emptying future issues. Thank you.
DPF Fixer responded quickly to my enquiry and arranged same day visit. The engineer, Dave, advised his time of arrival and promptly carried out the successful clean and regeneration on my LR Discovery Sport. Very pleased with the service and advice from DPF Fixer. Thank you.
Where we get to near Iping, and what we clean
Whatever it is — car, panel van, light commercial, HGV, plant, construction machinery, agricultural machine — the very same call-out service holds, and the filter never leaves it.
Iping is rarely a special trip: engineers are along Iping Lane most weeks, and the same run covers Trotton, Quags Corner and the spots out past Stedham. Call anyway from even further out through West Sussex. Coverage runs UK-wide, and the day you are given depends on the diary rather than how far away you are.

Usual questions on DPF cleaning around Iping
- Can I merely take it for a long drive?
- Quickly enough, and with the vehicle out of limp mode, yes — sometimes. Ten minutes to Sainsbury's and back will not do it; motorway speed, held for a while, will.
- The visit takes how long?
- That is typically around 2 hours, though a severely clogged filter can require cleaning twice, which takes longer.
- What does it run to across Iping?
- Beginning from £299, with a charge for coming out that covers the diagnostic and advice on what to do next. The vehicle and your address both move the price, so we price on the phone.
- Do I have to be present?
- The motor needs a spot for two hours or so. You need not be in it. The regeneration can be run as a supervised drive if you would prefer to come along.
- Can someone come to Iping soon?
- You are in for often same-day or next-day, though it depends what is currently in the schedule. Phone 0303 330 1830 what is free across the GU area.
- The filter — does it leave the car?
- On the call-out service, no: the filter is done in place. Nor does lifting a filter off nor fitting one back on is work we do.
- And if the light returns?
- Covered by the 30-day warranty: aftercare, and an engineer heading back to Iping.
