Mobile DPF Cleaning across Inverie and Highland
The car sits put — mobile DPF cleaning comes to it. Your vehicle is not taken anywhere and the filter doesn't leave it. An engineer arrives at your place over in Inverie, cleans the diesel particulate filter fitted to the motor and carries out a DPF regeneration.
Nobody sets off until the price is settled on the phone. The visit runs typically around 2 hours and the clean begins from £299.
The light is showing and the car is low on power — that is how we usually come across people, and what this page deals with.
Your DPF light is on — what now?
It might not be the filter in the end. That is the first thing. Several faults put the very same light on the identical panel, which is why a visit opens with a diagnostic rather than with cleaning.
It counts what you do with the car between now and the appointment.
- A long constant run may yet manage it, provided the light is amber and the motor goes as normal. Costs nothing, so have a go at that before calling.
- Car already gone into limp mode — that window has shut. A drive will not touch it now.
- A diesel smell in there, or black smoke under acceleration, is the point to stop planning long drives and book it in.
What the car has been telling you
Symptoms have generally been growing for weeks before the light even arrives. Belated news, in other words:
- less power, above all pulling uphill
- the revs no longer pull the way they used to
- the fuel consumption is poorer
- silently, the stop/start bows out
- the car smelling of diesel, or smoke when you press on
None of that is proof on its own. It is a fair bet the filter is blocked once the light is there too.
What clogs diesel particulate filters near Inverie
For a DPF, the least kind motoring is the kind you meet around a coastal village such as Inverie. Run through a typical week: the local primary school and home again, Blaven View at a standstill before nine, a five-minute run to The Co-operative Food, a dash to Mallaig. Not much there lasts long enough or runs hot enough to finish a regeneration. Soot that should burn off builds up instead.
Except when you have a routine cause to get out to the M8, over 50 miles from Inverie, or over to Inverness over 50 miles away, entire weeks slip past without a long unbroken run. Geography is unhelpful.
The stage a DPF regeneration can no longer happen
Limp mode is the car looking after itself. With pulling power limited and the revs pinned, the regeneration the filter wants will not complete at all. That matters, because starting one is precisely what a sustained run does.
Getting it up the motorway is the standard advice, and it holds up to a line. Past that line — limp mode — road work will not be enough, and the filter requires cleaning.
DPF cleaning at the motor across Inverie
Most owners do not anticipate this part: the filter stays on. The job is done with the DPF yet fixed to the car — on your driveway, in a work car park, wherever the motor can wait for a while.
Nothing is touched until other faults are ruled out. That means a diagnostic first: running data off the ECU, soot load by proportion and by actual weight, and a look over of the sensors, glow plugs and related components.
A cleaning solution next goes in through the entry point on that motor, spreading inside the filter to lift soot and ash a regeneration alone will never budge. Sometimes a filter is blocked enough to take doing twice.
Next, a regeneration drives off everything the clean freed. Either it is done as a monitored drive out of Inverie, with you along, or it goes where the car waits and the running data is read once done.
Finally the diagnostic runs again — the change proven, the light reset, anything still open noted. Both sets of figures arrive with you by email, so the numbers are recorded.
Where a clean is not the solution
One thing is what a clean cures — a filter blocked with soot and ash. It does no good for:
- the wrong signal from a temperature sensor
- the EGR valve held open
- an AdBlue system failure
- injectors or glow plugs that stop a regeneration completing in the first place
- the turbo pushing oil into the filter
The first diagnostic is there for precisely that. If one of those proves the fault, you learn of it at the outset rather than once the money has left for good.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter cut out fails its MOT, and driving it is against the law, so that is no fix. What gets searched for as DPF renewal swaps nothing: your filter is cleared in place and goes back into service.
DPF cleaning costs around Inverie
Treatment begins from £299, with the call-out charge on top of that for every visit — it takes in the call-out, the booking, the checks and the advice.
Once we have what you own, and roughly what the filter will need, the figure gets agreed on the phone. A single price for everyone would not be honest. What you run and where you are both move it: Inverie itself, across at Scottas, or further out within the PH postcode area.
You are not charged for cleaning that the check says will not work. What even so stands is the call-out charge, since the visit was made, the diagnostic was done and the advice was passed on.
A 30-day warranty takes in aftercare on the clean, and that includes an engineer travelling back out to Inverie if the light reappears inside the time.
Had these guys out to clean the dpf filter on my ford connect absolutely brilliant guy that did the job van runs great loads of power came and did it at the Travelodge where I was staying everything was tip top many thanks to Dave who did the job.
Excellent service ever! They came out at a very needed time. My dpf was badly blocked and the Engineer exercised high patience with it. Great stuff!
Very happy with the service. Liam arrived at agreed time and was very professional. He explain the process and answered all the questions I had.
What we clean, and how far we reach near Inverie
The filter is cleaned where it sits on all of them: cars, vans of any size and light commercials, HGVs and lorries, construction and plant machinery, agricultural machinery. Nothing is moved anywhere.
Engineers are along Blaven View nearly every week, so Inverie is hardly ever a detour, and the same run takes in Scottas, Airor and the spots out past Mallaig. Further out across Highland is still worth phoning about — coverage is UK-wide, and it is the diary rather than the distance that settles between today and tomorrow.

Things Inverie drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Will a long drive sort it?
- If you get it early enough, and the car is not in limp mode, sometimes. Ten minutes to The Co-operative Food and back will not manage it; motorway speed, kept for a while, will.
- The visit takes how long?
- That is typically around 2 hours, though a severely blocked filter can take cleaning twice, which runs on.
- How much does it run to in Inverie?
- The call-out charge pays for the visit, the diagnostic and the advice; the clean itself begins from £299. Both the vehicle and where you are shift it, which is why pricing happens by phone.
- Have I have to be present?
- Space for the car to wait, for a couple of hours, is all that is needed. Not you. If you would prefer to come along, the regeneration can be done as a watched drive instead.
- Can someone travel to Inverie soon?
- It is often same-day or next-day, depending on what is now in the diary. Ring 0303 330 1830 what is free across the PH area.
- The filter — does it leave the motor?
- Not on the on-site service — it is done where it is. That job — a filter off, a filter back on — is not something we do.
- Suppose the light reappears?
- Included by the 30-day warranty: aftercare, and an engineer heading back to Inverie.
