Signs the car has been showing you
Late news, the light. The symptoms tend to mount for some time before it shows:
- climbing uphill, the power falls off
- an engine whose revs will not climb like they did
- consumption that is worse than it used to be
- stop/start quietly packing in
- smoke under hard acceleration, or a diesel smell in there
None of that is conclusive alone. Next to the light alongside them, the filter is a fair assumption.
Why diesel particulate filters clog near Hulberry
Being a rural hamlet, Hulberry produces exactly the motoring a DPF manages the poorest. A regeneration takes long enough and heat, and has neither: not on the school run to Crockenhill Primary School, not on M25 at the morning rush, not on five minutes to Aldi, and not on the run to Eynsford.
