Mobile DPF Cleaner

Mobile DPF Cleaning serving Honeywell, South Yorkshire

Mobile DPF cleaning comes to the motor. No workshop, no filter coming off. A fitter travels to your place in Honeywell, cleans the diesel particulate filter as it sits, runs a DPF regeneration, and you hold on to the filter you came with.

Nobody leaves until the figure is settled by the phone. The visit runs typically around 2 hours and the clean opens from £299.

If the light is already on and the car is low on power, this page is the right one. That is how most owners end up here.

DPF light on? What to do

First thing: it is not always the filter. That light can arise from a number of faults, not merely one, so the visit starts with a diagnostic and not with a clean.

Second thing: how you run it between now and then matters.

  • A long even run may still be enough, provided the light is amber and the motor runs normally. Costs zero, so attempt that before calling.
  • A drive will not touch it now — limp mode means that window has already closed.
  • Diesel smell in the interior, or black smoke under hard acceleration — stop booking long drives and get it checked.

Signs the car has been giving you

Symptoms have generally been mounting for some time before the light even appears. Belated news, in other words:

  • power dropping away, above all climbing uphill
  • you find the revs stop short of where they used to go
  • worse fuel consumption
  • stop/start quietly bowing out
  • a diesel smell in the car, or smoke under acceleration

Alone, none of that is evidence. Next to the light alongside them, the filter is a fair bet.

Clogged diesel particulate filters round Honeywell, and the reason

The motoring that goes with a residential suburb like Honeywell is the poorest type for a DPF. The school run to Wilthorpe Primary School, Rockingham Street at a halt at half eight, a few minutes to Asda, the dash to Barnsley — none of it runs long enough or gets hot enough for the filter to finish a regeneration. What should burn away stays put.

Neither is a long way from Honeywell: under 3 miles to the M1, under 10 miles to Wakefield. Neither is on the way to anywhere most weeks, though, so the run that would scour a filter simply never comes.

Limp mode, and when DPF regeneration gives out

It is self-protection: that is all limp mode is. The whole difficulty is that a proper drive works by setting off a regeneration, and once in limp mode the revs will not pull and power is held down.

So the usual advice to run it up the motorway is sensible advice, right until it is not. In limp mode you are the far side of that point: a clean is what will help, not more road work.

Where the vehicle stands is where the DPF is done in Honeywell

On your drive, in a work car park, any place the car can wait for a couple of hours: the job happens with the filter even now fitted on, which is the detail most drivers do not see coming.

The ECU is taken first, showing soot load by proportion and by actual weight, along with a check of sensor readings, glow plugs and associated components, so nothing is touched while another fault is still open.

A cleaning solution then is injected through the access point on that vehicle, opening out inside the filter to lift soot and ash a regeneration alone will never move. Badly loaded filters sometimes take a second pass.

Next, a regeneration clears everything the clean lifted. That is a monitored drive out of Honeywell if you are along, or a static regeneration where the motor stands, with the live data verified afterwards.

Both read-outs go over by email, so the figures from either end are on record. The second diagnostic is what proves the change, resets the light and logs whatever is still showing.

What a DPF clean will not touch

Only one fault is cured by treatment: the filter clogged with ash and soot. It does little for:

  • a pressure sensor reporting a blockage that is not there
  • the EGR valve stuck open
  • AdBlue system problems
  • glow plugs or injectors blocking the regeneration starting whatsoever
  • the turbo putting oil into the filter

Which is why the diagnostic goes first. You are let know before all work begins, not after you have settled up, where it turns out to be one of those.

Two things more worth bearing in mind. Getting the filter hollowed out is not a solution — a vehicle without a working DPF will fail its MOT and driving it is against the law. And cleaning is sometimes searched for as DPF renewal: nothing is exchanged, your own filter is cleared in place and returned into use.

What DPF cleaning comes to in Honeywell

Any visit attracts a call-out charge — travelling to you, making the booking, doing the check and giving the advice. The clean itself starts from £299.

The number is settled by the phone, once we are told the vehicle and what the filter is apt to need. No flat rate could be straight. The car shifts it, and so does the postcode — Honeywell, Smithies, or somewhere further out in the S postcode area.

If the scan counts cleaning out, there is nothing to pay for it. You still pay that charge: someone came out, ran the scan and passed on you the advice.

Aftercare is included by a 30-day warranty: should the light reappear within it, an engineer returns to Honeywell.

Andras was excellent. He arrived on schedule, was knowledgeable, professional and courteous and took care of our car. So far the clean seems to have worked and we hope it continues to so we can avoid the hugely expensive DPF replacement.

Rupert C.

Good service. Daniel was very efficient and knowledgeable. The dpf is now completely clean. Down from 200% to zero. Would recommend.

Phil L.

Highly recommended I went plenty places to fix DPF but no one could and very expensive new one then found here called them same day they came and fixed now all good and best customer service they give before work and after work as well.

Where we reach around Honeywell, and what we clean

Cars, panel vans and light commercials, HGVs, plant and construction machinery, agricultural vehicles — the one call-out service across all of them, and on all of them the filter is treated where it sits rather than taken anywhere.

Week in week out there is usually someone on Rockingham Street, so Honeywell rarely means a detour, and Smithies, Gateway Plaza and the villages past Barnsley follow. Further out across South Yorkshire is nonetheless worth phoning about — coverage is UK-wide, and it is the diary rather than the distance that settles between one day and the next.

Things Honeywell drivers ask about DPF cleaning

Is a long drive enough on its own?
If you spot it in time, and the vehicle is not in limp mode, sometimes. That calls for motorway speed for a steady run, rather than a quick trip to Asda.
The visit takes how long?
Plan on typically around 2 hours — badly clogged filters sometimes need a second pass, which lengthens it.
The cost around Honeywell — what is it?
It begins from £299, plus the call-out charge taking in the visit, the scan and the advice. Both the vehicle and where you are move it, which is why quoting is done by phone.
Have I need to be around?
A spot for the vehicle to sit, for a couple of hours, is all that is wanted. Not you. Travel along if you prefer, and the regeneration becomes a watched drive.
When can someone get to Honeywell?
You are in for often same-day or next-day, though it depends what is now in the schedule. Ring 0303 330 1830 and you will know what is available across the S area.
Is the filter removed from the car?
Treated where it sits, on this service, so no. Taking a filter off or bolting one back on amount to anything a job we do in either direction.
What if the light returns?
Taken in by the 30-day warranty: aftercare, and an engineer travelling back to Honeywell.
