Last news, the light. The symptoms usually mount for some time before it arrives:
- going uphill, the power falls off
- revs that will not pull the way they once did
- fuel consumption getting worse
- the stop/start without a word bowing out
- diesel in the car, or smoke on the way up through the gears
That is not conclusive by itself. Next to the light, it is a fair bet the filter is full.
The reason diesel particulate filters block near Heath and Reach
