Mobile DPF Cleaning in Harmony and Pembrokeshire
On-site DPF cleaning travels to the vehicle. A fitter turns up at your door across Harmony, treats the diesel particulate filter while it is still on the vehicle, carries out a DPF regeneration, and you hold on to the filter you arrived with.
Allow for the visit running typically around 2 hours. The clean opens from £299, settled by the phone before anyone sets off.
Written for the state most drivers are in: the light on already, the car short for power, and the visit still to book.
What to do when the DPF light shows
Not the filter, necessarily. Opening thing to say. A check happens before the cleaning, because that same dashboard light has a number of possible faults behind it.
Second thing: how you handle it between now and then counts.
- Amber light, car still driving normally — a long even run can yet clear it alone. Costs zero, and worth attempting before you ring anything.
- Once the motor is in limp mode, motoring will not touch it. The window has gone.
- Stop arranging long drives and get it looked at if the cabin smells of diesel or there is black smoke when you pull away.
What the motor has been showing you
Symptoms have usually been growing for weeks before the light ever appears. Belated news, in other words:
- tailing off on power, above all uphill
- you find the revs never reach where they once went
- fuel economy going worse
- quietly, the stop/start bows out
- the car stinking of diesel, or smoke when you pull away
Any one of those, taken singly, is not proof. Alongside the light, it is a fair guess the filter is full.
Choked diesel particulate filters round Harmony, and the reason
For a DPF, the least kind use is the type you get in a rural hamlet such as Harmony. Think about a typical week: the local primary school and home, Trefasser Cross at a halt before the hour, a quick trip to Nisa Extra, a dash to Fishguard & Goodwick. Nothing there goes on long enough or is hot enough to finish a regeneration. Instead of burning away, the soot load builds up.
The M4 sits under 50 miles from Harmony, St Davids under 15 miles away, and unless something carries you out that way often, full weeks slip past without the sustained run that empties a unit. Geography does not oblige.
The point a DPF regeneration can no longer happen
What limp mode means is the car looking after itself. Pulling power is held down, the revs will not pull, and the regeneration the filter needs can not happen — which is the entire difficulty, because a sustained drive works by starting that regeneration.
So the common advice to run it up the motorway is sound advice, up until it stops being. The filter requires cleaning rather than driving once the vehicle has slipped into limp mode.
Mobile DPF cleaning where the car stands across Harmony
Nothing leaves the motor. That catches out people. The DPF stays fixed where it is and the work goes on around it, on a forecourt, in a works car park, wherever it can wait for a few hours.
The ECU is read first, reporting soot load by proportion and by weight, along with a check of sensors, glow plugs and connected components, so nothing is cleaned while another fault is still possible.
After that comes the clean itself: a cleaning solution in through the motor's own access point, spreading inside the filter and lifting what a regeneration never can. Where the filter is severely loaded, plan on a second pass.
What the clean has loosened is then cleared by a regeneration. Either it runs as a monitored drive out of Harmony, with you there, or it goes where the motor stands and the real-time data is read once done.
Then a second scan, proving the change, clearing the warning light and listing anything still logged. Both read-outs are sent over, so the before and after figures are kept.
Where a clean is not the answer
A filter blocked with soot and ash is the one thing a clean answers. It will not touch:
- a pressure or temperature sensor reporting a restriction that is not there
- the EGR valve jammed open
- the AdBlue system failing
- failed glow plugs or injectors, so never a regeneration ever completes
- the turbo pushing oil into the filter
Finding that out is the first check's whole job. Turning out to be one of them means hearing it before any work begins, not after handing over anything.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter cut out cannot pass its MOT, and driving it is an offence, so that is no remedy. What gets looked up as DPF renewal replaces nothing: your own filter is treated in place and goes back into service.
Costs for DPF cleaning around Harmony
The cleaning opens from £299. A call-out charge is added to every visit, and covers the call-out itself, the booking, the check and the advice that follows.
Not one flat rate would be truthful, so the number is fixed by the phone once we are told the vehicle and what the filter is apt to need. Two things move it: what you run, and where you are — Harmony itself, out at Pontiago, or otherwise out within the SA postcode area.
Where the check says cleaning will not help, you are not billed for cleaning. The call-out charge still stands, because the visit, the scan and the advice have happened.
Aftercare is taken in by a 30-day warranty: should the light reappear within it, an engineer comes back to Harmony.
Nic did a great job, car is running as it should again after going into limp mode because of a dirty Dpf. Very polite and professional service.
Zoltan was amazing, courteous very professional and polite, he's given my Dads car a new lease of life as he needs the car for his Cancer treatment. Dad and I thank Zoltan for your work. A real gentleman. Thank you.
Excellent service from Daz Burrows from DPF fixer. Very thorough and care taken to give a full and clear explanation of any problems. Definitely worth the cost for giving me peace of mind.
The vehicles we clean and the patch we take in round Harmony
Cars, vans of any size and light commercials, HGVs, plant machinery, farm vehicles — one on-site service across all of them, and on all of them the filter is cleaned on the vehicle rather than carried anywhere.
Engineers are along Trefasser Cross nearly every week, so Harmony is rarely a detour, and the same run takes in Pontiago, St Nicholas and the places out past Goodwick. It is the schedule, not the distance, that settles whether it is one day or the next, and coverage runs UK-wide — so call still from further out around Pembrokeshire.

What Harmony drivers wonder about DPF cleaning
- Will a long drive shift it?
- If you get it in time, and the car is not in limp mode, sometimes. It needs a long run at motorway speed, not ten minutes flat to Nisa Extra and back.
- About how long does it take?
- That is typically around 2 hours, though a heavily loaded filter can need cleaning twice, which takes longer.
- What does it cost around Harmony?
- The call-out charge covers the visit, the check and the advice; treatment itself opens from £299. The vehicle and your address both shift the number, so we settle it on the phone.
- Must I be there in person?
- The car requires a place for two hours or so. You need not be in it. The regeneration can be run as a watched drive if you would rather be there.
- How soon can someone travel to Harmony?
- Depending on the schedule, often same-day or next-day is typical. Ask 0303 330 1830 what is free across the SA area.
- Will the filter be lifted off?
- Not on the call-out service — it is treated where it sits. Neither job — a filter off, a filter back on — is not work we do.
- The light returns — then what?
- An engineer travels back out to Harmony — the 30-day warranty includes aftercare.
