- Glow plugs or injectors stopping a regeneration from starting at all
- Oil working through the filter from a failing turbo
Where any of those turns out to be the fault, we tell you in advance rather than after you have paid.
DPF renewal is the common search term, though no part is exchanged — the original unit is treated on the vehicle and put back to work. Gutting the filter out is no solution either, since the MOT then cannot be passed and the road use becomes unlawful.
Attempt a long drive before booking
Worth attempting before you ring: a filter that's only just begun to clog will often sort itself. under 3 miles sits between Haigh and the M61, and that is the run to take, holding the pace constant. The long route into Preston works too. Five minutes to Worthington and home does not.
