Before the light, what the car was showing you
Last news, the light. The symptoms generally grow for some time before it shows:
- less power, above all climbing uphill
- an engine whose revs will not climb as before
- fuel economy going worse
- a stop/start that has silently packed in
- diesel in the interior, or smoke on the way up through the box
Any one of those, taken singly, is not evidence. It is a fair assumption the filter is blocked once the light is on as well.

Gruline is a coastal area, and the day-to-day driving that belongs to one is the least kind type for a DPF.
