Mobile DPF Cleaning around Green Plains and Pembrokeshire
With mobile DPF cleaning, we travel to the car. No body shop, no filter going anywhere. A fitter travels to your address across Green Plains, clears the diesel particulate filter as it sits, carries out a DPF regeneration, and you hold on to the filter you came with.
Nobody leaves until the figure is settled on the phone. The visit lasts typically around 2 hours and the clean begins from £299.
Most drivers find us with the light already on, and the car down on power. That is the position this page is meant for.
What to do when the DPF light comes on
Not the filter, always. Opening thing to say. That light can follow several faults, not merely one, so the visit opens with a diagnostic and not with cleaning.
It tells what you get with the vehicle between now and the visit.
- Worth a try before you call anything: amber light, motor driving fine, just one constant run, no cost.
- That window has shut once the car has dropped into limp mode. Motoring will not get there now.
- Stop planning long drives and get it looked at if the interior smells of diesel or there is black smoke when you press on.
Before the light, what the motor was warning you
The light is late news. By the time it arrives, the symptoms have generally been growing for some time:
- power tailing off, above all climbing uphill
- revs that will not pull the way they once did
- the fuel consumption is worse
- a stop/start that has meekly bowed out
- smoke under the throttle, or a diesel smell in there
Alone, none of that is proof. Alongside the light, it is a fair guess the filter is loaded.
Blocked diesel particulate filters round Green Plains, and the reason
For a DPF, the poorest use is the sort you get across a rural hamlet such as Green Plains. Run through a normal week: the local primary school and back, Roslyn Hill at a crawl before half nine, a five-minute run to The Co-operative Food, a hop to Kilgetty. Not much there lasts long enough or runs hot enough to complete a regeneration. The soot load collects rather than burning away.
Geography does not oblige either. The M4 is under 50 miles from Green Plains and St Davids is under 50 miles away, so unless something takes you out that way often, whole weeks slip past without the long unbroken run that might scour the filter by itself.
Why limp mode stops a DPF regeneration
Limp mode is the motor protecting itself. The real catch is that a long drive works by starting a regeneration, and once in limp mode the revs will not rise and power is capped.
Good advice, that motorway run — until the point it is not. Past that stage — limp mode — road work will not be enough, and the filter requires a clean.
Mobile DPF cleaning where the motor stands across Green Plains
The filter does not leave it. That is the part most people do not expect: the job takes place with the DPF yet fitted to the motor, on your driveway, in a work car park, wherever the motor can stand for a couple of hours.
The ECU is taken first, giving soot load by percentage and by weight, along with a look over of sensor feeds, glow plugs and connected components, so nothing is touched while another fault is still possible.
Soot and ash that a regeneration by itself will never budge are lifted next, by a cleaning solution fed through the access port on that vehicle, which expands inside the filter. Where the filter is severely loaded, allow for a second pass.
A regeneration follows, driving off what the clean has freed. Ride along with the motor and it becomes a monitored drive out of Green Plains. Park it and the regeneration runs in place, with running data checked once it is done.
Finally the diagnostic runs again — the change confirmed, the light reset, anything still showing noted. Both reports come to you by email, so the numbers are kept.
Where treatment is not the answer
A filter blocked with soot and ash is the one thing cleaning cures. It will not help:
- sensors, pressure, flagging a restriction that is not real
- a stuck-open EGR valve
- an AdBlue system failure
- failed glow plugs or injectors, so not one regeneration ever completes
- turbo failure, with oil getting into the filter
Finding that out is the first check's purpose. You are warned before all work starts, not after you have handed over, where it turns out to be one of those.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter cut out fails its MOT, and driving it is illegal, so that is no solution. What gets searched for as DPF renewal swaps nothing: your existing filter is cleared in place and goes back into service.
DPF cleaning costs in Green Plains
A call-out charge holds whatever follows, and covers the visit, the booking fee, the check and the advice given. Treatment itself starts from £299.
The figure is fixed by the phone, once we have the vehicle and what the filter is likely to need. No flat rate could be honest. The place you are tells as much as what you drive: Green Plains itself, Pleasant Valley nearby, or further out within the SA postcode area.
Cleaning that will not do it is not a clean you pay for, and the check is what says so. The call-out charge still stands, because the visit, the diagnostic and the advice have happened.
A 30-day warranty includes aftercare on the job, and that includes an engineer travelling back out to Green Plains if the light comes back inside the window.
Engineer very polite sorted problem now van runs like a F1 car will recommend to anyone with a dpf problem.
Needed the van urgently for work, they came first thing the next day, ran a full test before and found it didn't need a clean but was the temp sensors that have failed, gave some good advise and left. Quick, pleasant and honest to deal with.
Diagnosed my engine. Didn't need the clean. Gave me a diagnostic report and did not rip me off. I felt completely satisfied with the information given. Callum was polite, helpful and respectful. Good representative for the company.
What we clean, and how far we travel round Green Plains
Whatever it is — estate, light van, light commercial, heavy goods vehicle, plant, construction machinery, agricultural vehicle — the very same on-site service applies, and the filter never leaves it.
Most weeks there is usually someone on Roslyn Hill, so Green Plains seldom means a detour, and Pleasant Valley, Amroth and the villages past Summerhill are on the way. Even further out across Pembrokeshire is nonetheless worth a call — coverage runs UK-wide, and it is the diary rather than the distance that settles between one day and the next.

Things Green Plains drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Does a long run clear it?
- If you get it early, and the vehicle is not in limp mode, sometimes. Five minutes to The Co-operative Food and back will not do it; motorway speed, kept for a stretch, will.
- The visit takes how long?
- It is typically around 2 hours. A heavily clogged filter can need a second clean, which adds to that.
- Across Green Plains, what does it run to?
- It starts from £299, plus the call-out charge paying for the visit, the check and the advice. The vehicle and your address both shift the number, so we quote on the phone.
- Must I be around in person?
- You need not stand with it — the car simply wants a spot to stand for a couple of hours. The regeneration can be done as a supervised drive if you would prefer to be there.
- When can someone come to Green Plains?
- That hangs on the diary, but it is often same-day or next-day. Phone 0303 330 1830 what is free across the SA area.
- The filter — does it come away from the motor?
- It is cleaned where it stands, on the on-site service. Neither lifting a filter off nor bolting one back on is work we do.
- And if the light comes back?
- The 30-day warranty includes aftercare, including an engineer heading back to Green Plains.
