- tailing off on power, especially uphill

- worse fuel economy
- without a word, the stop/start packs in
- the interior smelling of diesel, or smoke when you press on
None of that is proof on its own. It is a fair bet the filter is loaded once the light is on as well.
The cause diesel particulate filters choke around Grange
