Gospel Green, West Sussex: Mobile DPF Cleaning
The car stays where it is — on-site DPF cleaning travels to it. A technician arrives at your place over in Gospel Green, treats the diesel particulate filter while it is still on the motor, performs a DPF regeneration, and you hold on to the filter you arrived with.
Allow for the visit lasting typically around 2 hours. The clean starts from £299, fixed on the phone before anyone sets off.
If the light is on already and the car is short of power, this page is the right one. That is how most people end up here.
The DPF light is on. What then?
Not the unit, always. First thing to say. A number of faults put the identical light on the same panel, which is why a visit begins with a scan rather than with treatment.
Second thing: how you drive it between now and then matters.
- Car still driving fine on an amber light — have a go at a long constant run first. It costs nothing at all and often shifts the filter without a visit.
- Motor already gone into limp mode — that window has shut. A drive will not reach it now.
- A diesel smell in the car, or black smoke under the throttle, is the moment to stop booking long drives and call.
The vehicle has been showing you already
Late news, the light. The symptoms tend to build for some time before it arrives:
- power dropping away, above all going uphill
- the revs no longer rise the way they used to
- worse fuel consumption
- quietly, the stop/start gives up
- smoke under the throttle, or a diesel smell in the car
Any one of those, taken by itself, is not evidence. Next to the light with them, the filter is a fair bet.
Blocked diesel particulate filters round Gospel Green, and the why
Being an area, Gospel Green produces just the motoring a DPF manages least well. The school run to Northchapel Community Primary School, Gospel Green Road at a standstill at half eight, a few minutes to Waitrose, the hop to Haslemere — not one bit of it goes on long enough or gets hot enough for the filter to finish a regeneration. The unburnt soot banks up rather than burning off.
The map does not help either. The M3 is under 25 miles from Gospel Green and Chichester is under 25 miles away, so unless something takes you out that way routinely, weeks pass without the sustained run that would clear the filter by itself.
The moment a DPF regeneration can no longer complete
The vehicle is looking after itself, which is what limp mode is. The real catch is that a proper drive works by triggering a regeneration, and in limp mode the revs will not climb and power is limited.
So the usual advice to run it up the motorway is sound advice, up until it is not. Past that stage — limp mode — road work will not be enough, and the filter requires cleaning.
On-site DPF cleaning where the motor stands round Gospel Green
The filter does not budge. That is the part most people do not expect: the job happens with the DPF even now bolted to the motor, on your front, in a work car park, wherever the car can sit for a couple of hours.
Nothing is started until other faults are eliminated. That means a check first: real-time data off the ECU, soot load by percent and by actual weight, and a look over of the sensor readings, glow plugs and connected parts.
Then comes the clean itself: solution in through the vehicle's own access port, opening out inside the filter and loosening what a regeneration never can. A second pass is sometimes called for on badly clogged filters.
What the clean has loosened is then burned off by a regeneration. Either it goes as a monitored drive out of Gospel Green, with you there, or it runs where the vehicle stands and the running data is read once done.
Then a second scan, confirming the change, clearing the warning light and noting anything still logged. Both sets of figures are emailed over, so the before and after figures are on record.
What a DPF clean will not touch
Only one fault is fixed by a clean: the filter choked with ash and soot. It does no good for:
- sensors, temperature or pressure, reporting a block that is not real
- EGR valves that jam open
- the AdBlue system failing
- a regeneration that hardly ever runs, because of glow plugs or injectors
- the turbo pushing oil into the filter
Which is why the scan comes first. You are told before all work starts, not after you have settled up, should it turns out to be one of those.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter hollowed out will fail its MOT, and driving it is an offence, so that is no remedy. What gets looked up as DPF renewal exchanges nothing: your existing filter is cleaned in place and goes back into service.
The price for DPF cleaning across Gospel Green
A clean opens from £299, with the call-out charge on top of that for every visit — it pays for the call-out, the booking, the checks and the advice.
Naming a flat rate would not be truthful. We fix it on the phone, once the car and its expected needs are established. What you run and where you are both shift it: Gospel Green itself, out at Ramsnest Common, or otherwise out in the GU postcode area.
Where the scan says treatment will not work, you are not billed for cleaning. You still pay that charge: someone turned up, did the diagnostic and passed on you the advice.
The clean comes with a 30-day warranty including aftercare, including an engineer heading back out to Gospel Green if the light returns inside that time.
Very honest, friendly and straight forward company and engineer (Attilla). He ran a diagnostic check and said that they could try cleaning it out but it would probably block again within a few weeks. Hence I was very happy to have only paid the £150.
First class service. Engineer was excellent. Friendly and informative. He supplied me with an email containing all the readings he had completed. Very impressive. Would use your company again. Well satisfied. Thanks.
Just had James to see to my car, great guy, and really a credit to Dpf Fixers. A go to company. A go to Guy.
Vehicles we clean, and where we reach near Gospel Green
Whatever it is — private car, van, light commercial, lorry, plant, construction machinery, farm vehicle — the very same call-out service holds, and the filter never leaves it.
Most weeks there is usually someone on Gospel Green Road, so Gospel Green seldom means a special trip, and Ramsnest Common, Ansteadbrook and the places past Northchapel come with it. Phone anyway from even further out around West Sussex. Coverage extends UK-wide, and the slot you are given depends on the schedule rather than how far away you are.

Common questions on DPF cleaning across Gospel Green
- Can I merely take it for a long drive?
- Sometimes, if you catch it early enough and the vehicle has not dropped into limp mode. That requires motorway speed for a sustained spell, rather than a short trip to Waitrose.
- How long does the visit last?
- Plan on typically around 2 hours — heavily clogged filters sometimes require a second pass, which extends it.
- How much does it run to around Gospel Green?
- Treatment begins from £299, and the call-out charge on top takes in the visit, the scan and the advice. Both the vehicle and where you are move it, which is why pricing happens by phone.
- Do I have to be around?
- Nobody expects you to stand with it — the car just requires space to sit for a couple of hours. Preferring to be there is welcome: the regeneration then is done out on the move, monitored.
- When can someone travel to Gospel Green?
- That depends on the diary, but it is often same-day or next-day. Phone 0303 330 1830 what is open across the GU area.
- Is the filter removed from the car?
- Cleaned where it stands, on this service, so no. We never get filters off or put them back on, in either direction.
- And if the light returns?
- Aftercare comes inside the 30-day warranty, and that includes an engineer returning to Gospel Green.
