Mobile DPF Cleaning in Farley, Shropshire

Cleaning the DPF is done at the motor, not at a workshop. The engineer turns up at your address over in Farley and sets up. The diesel particulate filter is cleared still on the motor, a DPF regeneration comes next, and you hold on to the filter you came with.

You'll have a number by phone before anyone goes, the clean opening from £299, and the visit taking typically around 2 hours.

If the light is on already and the car is short of power, this page is for you. That is how most drivers arrive here.

DPF light on? What happens next

Not the filter, necessarily. First thing to say. Plenty of faults put the same light on the same dash, which is why a visit opens with a scan rather than with cleaning.

The driving you manage in the meantime tells. That is the other thing.

  • Amber light, vehicle still driving fine — a long even run can yet shift it by itself. Costs nothing at all, and worth a try before you book anything.
  • A drive will not shift it now — limp mode means that window has already closed.
  • Stop booking long drives and get it looked at if the cabin stinks of diesel or there is black smoke when you pull away.

The vehicle has been showing you already

By the time the light arrives, things have generally been going wrong for some time. It is late news:

  • power dropping away, particularly pulling uphill
  • revs that will not climb the way they always did
  • fuel use getting worse
  • the stop/start without a word packing in
  • diesel in the cabin, or smoke on the way up through the gearbox

Any one of those, taken by itself, is not proof. Next to the light with them, the filter is a fair assumption.

What chokes diesel particulate filters round Farley

Farley is a rural hamlet, and the motoring that goes with one is the poorest type for a DPF. Not one bit of it runs long enough or runs hot enough for the filter to complete a regeneration: the school run to Pontesbury CofE Primary School, Edge Lane crawling at half eight, five minutes to Co-op, the dash to Shrewsbury. Instead of burning off, the unburnt soot collects.

Neither is distant from Farley: under 25 miles to the M54, under 50 miles to Wrexham. Neither is on the way to much most weeks, though, so the run that would scour a filter hardly ever happens.

DPF regeneration, and the stage limp mode kills it

What limp mode comes down to is the vehicle protecting itself. The whole catch is that a sustained drive works by starting a regeneration, and under limp mode the revs will not pull and power is capped.

Good advice, that motorway run — right up until the moment it is not. Once the vehicle is in limp mode you are beyond that point, and the filter requires cleaning rather than more driving.

Call-out DPF cleaning where the car stands across Farley

On your drive, in a work car park, wherever the car can sit for a few hours: the job happens with the filter yet bolted on, which is the part most people do not anticipate.

First a diagnostic. Live ECU data, the soot load as a percent and as a mass, the sensors, the glow plugs, the related components — all of it logged before a thing is started.

Then the clean. A solution goes in through the access point on that car and expands inside the filter, loosening the soot and ash a regeneration by itself will never move. Where the filter is severely loaded, expect a second pass.

A regeneration comes next, burning off what the clean has freed. Either it is done as a monitored drive out of Farley, with you along, or it runs where the vehicle sits and the live data is checked afterwards.

A second diagnostic verifies the change, puts out the warning light and logs anything still outstanding. Both sets of figures are emailed, so you keep the before and after figures on record.

Where cleaning is not the fix

Only one fault is answered by a clean: the filter choked with ash and soot. It does no good for:

  • pressure or temperature sensors reporting a block that is not there
  • a jammed EGR valve
  • AdBlue system problems
  • a regeneration that never runs, because of glow plugs or injectors
  • turbo failure, with oil reaching the filter

The first scan is there for just that. Where one of those turns out to be the fault, you hear about it at the outset rather than once the money has gone for good.

Two things more worth noting. Getting the filter cut out is not a remedy — a vehicle without a working DPF fails its MOT and driving it is against the law. And cleaning is sometimes described as DPF renewal: nothing is swapped, your original filter is cleared in place and returned into use.

Prices for DPF cleaning across Farley

The treatment begins from £299. A call-out charge covers every visit, and covers the call-out itself, the booking, the scan and the advice that goes with it.

Once we know what you run, and about what the filter will take, the number gets settled over phone. A single price for all would not be straight. Two separate things shift it: what you run, and where you are — Farley itself, out at Edge, or farther out across the SY postcode area.

A clean that will not help is not cleaning you pay for, and the diagnostic is what says so. Because the visit, the check and the advice have been done, the call-out charge even so applies.

A 30-day warranty covers aftercare on the job, and that includes an engineer travelling back out to Farley if the light reappears inside the window.

DPF cleaning performed at a vehicle across Farley

The whole operation was carried out by their operator Nic in an efficient and professional manner. He talked me through the whole process in layman's terms with a full report on completion. The test run showed that the car was, indeed, back to normal. Would definitely recommend.

Graham P.

Great experience with DPF. We got an appointment next day and the customer service was great all the way through. Whilst I hope I don't have to use them again, I would recommend to anyone!

Ashley T.

DPF fixer Daz, Great job finding the fault, split pipe on turbo intercooler, my local garage changed egr valve, heater plugs fuel filter never found or solved the problem 900 stg later, I would highly recommend DPF fixer for problem solving to save unnecessary spending thanks again DAZ.

Where we get to around Farley, and what we clean

The filter is cleaned on the vehicle on all of them: cars and estates, vans and light commercials, HGVs, construction and plant machinery, agricultural machinery. Nothing is carried anywhere.

Farley is rarely a special trip: engineers are out on Edge Lane nearly every week, and the same run takes in Edge, Pontesbury and the villages out past Asterley. Coverage reaches UK-wide, so further out across Shropshire is even so worth a phone call, and what picks between today and tomorrow is the diary rather than the distance.

Farley is a rural community with a population of around 293 people, located in the West Midlands region of England. Farley is also relatively distant from London, at a distance of 142.5 miles.

Things Farley drivers ask about DPF cleaning

Is a long drive enough by itself?
Quickly enough, and with the motor out of limp mode, yes — sometimes. A long run at motorway speed is what it needs — not ten minutes to Co-op and back.
The visit runs how long?
That is typically around 2 hours, though a badly blocked filter can need cleaning twice, which adds time.
How much does it come to in Farley?
Cleaning begins from £299, and the call-out charge on top pays for the visit, the check and the advice. Pricing is done by phone, since what you own and where you live both move the number.
Must I be there in person?
You do not need to stand with it — the motor just requires somewhere to sit for a couple of hours. If you would rather come along, the regeneration can be run as a supervised drive instead.
Coming to Farley — how soon?
That hangs on the calendar, but it is often same-day or next-day. Call 0303 330 1830 and we will say to you what is available across the SY area.
Does the filter come off the car?
On the on-site service, no: the filter is treated in place. Neither job — a filter off, a filter back on — is not work we do.
What if the light reappears?
Taken in by the 30-day warranty: aftercare, and an engineer coming back to Farley.
