Symptoms have generally been growing for a while before the light so much as shows. Late news, in other words:
- less power, above all climbing uphill
- the revs no longer climb the way they once did
- economy that is worse than it was
- a stop/start that has silently bowed out
- smoke under hard acceleration, or a diesel smell in there
By itself, none of that is conclusive. Alongside the light alongside them, the filter is a fair bet.
Why diesel particulate filters block round Farcet
