Mobile DPF Cleaning in Diggs, Buckinghamshire
Treating the DPF takes place at the vehicle, not at a body shop. Your car will not be taken away and the filter does not come off. An engineer comes at your address in Diggs, treats the diesel particulate filter on the car and runs a DPF regeneration.
The visit runs typically around 2 hours, the clean starts from £299, and the price is agreed by the phone before anyone travels.
If the light is on already and the vehicle is low on power, this page is the right one. That is how most drivers get to us.
What to try when the DPF light comes on
Not the DPF, necessarily. Main thing to get straight. Treatment is not where a visit starts. A scan is — a number of faults appear as the same warning.
How the vehicle is driven in the meantime makes a difference too.
- Car yet driving as normal on an amber light — attempt a long constant run first. It costs nothing and frequently clears the filter without assistance.
- A drive will not reach it now — limp mode means that window has already closed.
- A diesel smell in there, or black smoke under hard acceleration, is the point to stop planning long drives and ring.
What the car has been showing you
Symptoms have normally been mounting for some time before the light even arrives. Belated news, in other words:
- less power, particularly going uphill
- the revs no longer pull the way they always did
- fuel consumption turning worse
- the stop/start without a word bowing out
- a diesel smell in the cabin, or smoke under acceleration
Alone, none of that is conclusive. Next to the light, it is a fair guess the filter is blocked.
The cause diesel particulate filters block round Diggs
For a DPF, the least kind use is the sort you get across a residential suburb such as Diggs. None of it runs long enough or is hot enough for the filter to complete a regeneration: the school run to Haddenham St Mary's Church of England School, Whitecross Road barely moving at half past eight, five minutes to Waitrose, the hop to Haddenham & Thame Parkway. Instead of burning off, the unburnt soot builds up.
Neither is distant from Diggs: under 10 miles to the M40, under 15 miles to Oxford. Neither is on the way to much most weeks, though, so the journey that would scour a filter never comes.
Why limp mode blocks a DPF regeneration
Limp mode is the car protecting itself. With power limited and the revs held, the regeneration the filter requires can never happen at all. That matters, because triggering one is exactly what a sustained run does.
The standard advice — get it up the motorway — is sensible, right until it is not. In limp mode you are the far side of that stage: cleaning is what will help, not more miles.
Where the motor stands is where the DPF is done round Diggs
The filter does not come off. That is the part most people do not expect: the job happens with the DPF even now fitted to the vehicle, on your drive, in a work car park, anywhere the motor can stand for a while.
First a scan. Live ECU data, the soot load as a proportion and as a weight, the sensor feeds, the glow plugs, the related components — all of it logged before any of it is cleaned.
Soot and ash that a regeneration on its own will never budge are freed next, by a cleaning fluid passed through the access port on that vehicle, which expands inside the filter. Where the filter is heavily clogged, allow for a second pass.
A regeneration follows, driving off what the clean has loosened. If you are there, that is carried out as a monitored drive out of Diggs; if not, in place where the vehicle stands, with the running data read afterwards.
A second check proves the change, clears the warning light and logs anything still outstanding. Both reports are sent over, so you end up with the before and after figures recorded.
When a DPF clean is not the solution
One thing is what a clean answers — a filter choked with soot and ash. It does nothing for:
- a pressure sensor flagging a blockage that is not there
- the EGR valve jammed open
- an AdBlue system problem
- faulty glow plugs or injectors, so no regeneration ever runs
- oil passing through the filter from a worn turbo
That is what the first diagnostic is for. You are warned before any work starts, not after you have paid, should it turns out to be one of those.
Hollowing the filter out is not a remedy: without a serviceable DPF a vehicle fails its MOT, and driving it is illegal. DPF renewal is the wording people look up, though nothing is swapped — your original filter is cleaned in place and returned into use. Two more worth noting.
DPF cleaning charges in Diggs
The clean begins from £299. A call-out charge applies to every visit, and covers the call-out itself, the booking, the scan and the advice that follows.
The number is agreed by the phone, once we are told the vehicle and what the filter is apt to need. No flat rate could be truthful. What you own and where you are both move it: Diggs itself, across at Haddenham, or further out across the HP postcode area.
You are not charged for a clean that the scan says will not do it. The call-out charge even so stands, because the visit, the diagnostic and the advice have taken place.
The clean includes a 30-day warranty covering aftercare, including an engineer travelling back out to Diggs if the light comes back inside that window.
Jim who came out to me on site, nice guy pleasure to deal with very helpful. checked out my truck reset the computer and away we went no dash lights currently.
Couldn't be happier with the service I received. Great communication and friendly knowledgeable staff. Would recommend and use again in the future.
Daz was absolutely amazing. He was lovely and talked me through everything. He has educated me a bit more about my vehicle. Couldn't be more happier.
The vehicles we clean and the patch we take in around Diggs
The filter is treated on the vehicle on all of them: cars and estates, panel vans and light commercials, HGVs, construction and plant machinery, farm vehicles. Nothing is carried anywhere.
Nearly every week there is by then someone on Whitecross Road, so Diggs hardly ever means a detour, and Haddenham, Townsend and the places past Kingsey come with it. Farther out through Buckinghamshire is still worth a call — coverage runs UK-wide, and it is the schedule rather than the distance that picks between today and tomorrow.

Frequent questions on DPF cleaning in Diggs
- Does a long run sort it?
- If you catch it early, and the vehicle is not in limp mode, sometimes. That calls for motorway speed for a sustained run, rather than a short trip to Waitrose.
- Roughly how long does it last?
- It is typically around 2 hours. A severely blocked filter can require a second clean, which adds to that.
- What does it cost around Diggs?
- It starts from £299, plus the call-out charge taking in the visit, the diagnostic and the advice. The vehicle and your address both shift the number, so we settle it on the phone.
- Must I be there in person?
- Nobody expects you to stand with it — the vehicle simply wants somewhere to stand for a couple of hours. Travel along if you would rather, and the regeneration becomes a monitored drive.
- How soon can someone get to Diggs?
- That depends on the schedule, but it is often same-day or next-day. Call 0303 330 1830 and we will say to you what is available across the HP area.
- Will the filter be taken off?
- It is done where it sits, on the call-out service. Lifting a filter off or fitting one back on come to anything a job we do either way.
- Suppose the light reappears?
- Aftercare comes inside the 30-day warranty, and that includes an engineer coming back to Diggs.
