Mobile DPF Cleaning across Densole, Kent
Cleaning the DPF takes place at the motor, not at a body shop. An engineer arrives at your place over in Densole, clears the diesel particulate filter while it is fitted to the motor, performs a DPF regeneration, and you hold on to the filter you started with.
The visit takes typically around 2 hours, the clean opens from £299, and the number is agreed on the phone before anyone sets off.
Written for the situation most drivers are in: the light on already, the car starved for power, and the job still to arrange.
The DPF light is on. What now?
First thing: it is not always the filter. A scan comes before any cleaning, because that same dashboard light has plenty of candidate faults behind it.
The driving you do in the meantime tells. That is the second thing.
- Amber light, motor even now driving as normal — a long even run can even now shift it alone. Costs zero, and worth trying before you book anything.
- That window has shut once the vehicle has fallen into limp mode. A drive will not do it now.
- A diesel smell in the car, or black smoke under the throttle, is the moment to stop arranging long drives and ring.
What the car has been warning you
Belated news, the light. The symptoms usually mount for some time before it shows:
- dropping away on power, above all uphill
- an engine whose revs will not pull as they should
- worse fuel use
- stop/start without a word packing in
- smoke under acceleration, or a diesel smell in there
Any one of those, taken singly, is not evidence. Next to the light alongside them, the filter is a fair assumption.
The explanation diesel particulate filters choke near Densole
Being a rural village, Densole throws up just the driving a DPF manages the poorest. Not one bit of it lasts long enough or is hot enough for the filter to finish a regeneration: the school run to Hawkinge Primary School, Pay Street barely moving at half past eight, a few minutes to Lidl, the run to Folkestone West. Instead of burning off, the unburnt soot banks up.
Unless you have a standing reason to drive out to the M20, under 3 miles from Densole, or over to Canterbury under 15 miles away, weeks go by without a long steady stint. Geography is no help.
Limp mode, and when DPF regeneration stops working
What limp mode means is the car looking after itself. The entire difficulty is that a proper drive works by triggering a regeneration, and under limp mode the revs will not climb and power is held down.
Sensible advice, that motorway run — right up until the day it is not. The far side of that line — limp mode — road work will not be enough, and the filter needs a clean.
Where the motor stands is where the DPF is cleaned across Densole
On your front, in a work car park, anywhere the car can wait for a while: the job takes place with the filter even now fitted on, which is the detail most people do not anticipate.
Nothing is touched until other faults are cleared. That means a check first: running data off the ECU, soot load by percent and by mass, and a look over of the sensor feeds, glow plugs and related hardware.
Soot and ash that a regeneration on its own will never shift are lifted after that, by a cleaning fluid put through the access port on that vehicle, which spreads inside the filter. Sometimes a filter is loaded enough to require doing twice.
Then a regeneration, to drive off what the clean has freed. Stay with the motor and it becomes a monitored drive out of Densole. Leave it and the regeneration is done on the spot, with live data read once it is done.
Both read-outs come through by email, so the figures from either end are kept. The second check is what confirms the change, clears the light and logs whatever is still open.
Where treatment is not the solution
Treatment answers one thing: a filter clogged with soot and ash. It does no good for:
- a temperature or pressure sensor flagging a restriction that is not there
- an EGR valve held open
- an AdBlue system fault
- a regeneration that simply never runs, because of glow plugs or injectors
- a turbo pushing oil through the filter
That is what the first diagnostic is for. Proving to be one of them means finding out it before the work begins, not after settling up anything.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter gutted fails its MOT, and driving it is an offence, so that is no solution. What gets looked up as DPF renewal swaps nothing: your filter is treated in place and goes back into use.
The figure for DPF cleaning across Densole
The clean opens from £299. A call-out charge is added to every visit, and covers the call-out itself, the booking, the scan and the advice that comes with it.
Quoting a flat rate would not be straight. We fix it by phone, once the vehicle and its expected needs are known. What you drive and where you are both change it: Densole itself, across at Acrise, or otherwise out across the CT postcode area.
Cleaning that will not do it is not treatment you pay for, and the check is what says so. You still pay that charge: someone travelled, carried out the check and offered you the advice.
Aftercare is included by a 30-day warranty: should the light return within it, an engineer returns to Densole.
Astonished with attention to detail and information given by Jason M. Prompt and efficient work carried out in a timely manner. Many thanks.
Needed the van urgently for work, they came first thing the next day, ran a full test before and found it didn't need a clean but was the temp sensors that have failed, gave some good advise and left. Quick, pleasant and honest to deal with.
Happy with the operative it came and worked on more van the van run lovely for 3 days and then the engine light come back on again and it went back into restrictive so I need to get in touch to with the company to see where we go.
What we clean, and how far we reach near Densole
One on-site service takes in cars and estates, vans and light commercials, heavy goods vehicles, plant and construction machinery and agricultural vehicles, and on every one the filter is cleaned on the vehicle rather than moved anywhere.
Densole is rarely a special trip: engineers are along Pay Street nearly every week, and the same run takes in Acrise, Swingfield Minnis and the spots out past Hawkinge. Coverage reaches UK-wide, so even further out across Kent is even so worth a call, and what settles between today and tomorrow is the diary rather than the distance.

Things Densole drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Will a long drive clear it?
- Sometimes, if you get it early enough and the motor has not slipped into limp mode. That requires motorway speed for a long run, rather than a quick trip to Lidl.
- Does the visit run long?
- Expect typically around 2 hours — badly clogged filters sometimes require a second pass, which lengthens it.
- Cost across Densole — what is it?
- It starts from £299, plus the call-out charge covering the visit, the check and the advice. Both the vehicle and where you are change it, which is why pricing goes by phone.
- Must I be there in person?
- The car needs a spot for two hours or so. You need not be in it. The regeneration can be run as a supervised drive if you would prefer to come along.
- Can someone come to Densole soon?
- Depending on the schedule, often same-day or next-day is usual. One ring to 0303 330 1830 and you will know what the CT area has available.
- The filter — does it come off the car?
- Not on the call-out service — it is cleaned where it stands. Neither getting a filter off nor fitting one back on is work we do.
- And if the light comes back?
- The 30-day warranty covers aftercare, including an engineer coming back to Densole.
