The vehicle has been telling you already
Last news, the light. The symptoms tend to build for weeks before it appears:
- climbing uphill, the power tails off
- an engine whose revs will not pull as before
- economy that is worse than before
- without a word, the stop/start packs in
- smoke under acceleration, or a diesel smell in the car
None of that is proof by itself. It is a fair assumption the filter is full once the light is showing too.
What clogs diesel particulate filters round Darite
The driving that comes with a village like Darite is the least kind sort for a DPF. Look at an ordinary week: Darite Primary Academy and home again, Hendra Close at a halt before the hour, a quick trip to Aldi, a run to Liskeard.
