Signs the car has been giving you
Last news, the light. The symptoms generally build for a while before it shows:
- pulling uphill, the power tails off
- the revs no longer rise the way they used to
- fuel use that is worse than before
- the stop/start quietly packing in
- the car smelling of diesel, or smoke when you accelerate
That is not proof by itself. It is a fair guess the filter is blocked once the light is there too.
What chokes diesel particulate filters near Crelly
Crelly is a small village, and the driving that comes with one is the worst sort for a DPF. Think about a typical week: Wendron Church of England Primary School and home again, Rowe's Lane at a standstill before nine, a five-minute run to Tesco, a dash to Camborne.
