Mobile DPF Cleaning around Brynheulog and Bridgend
Mobile DPF cleaning travels to the motor. An engineer arrives at your door over in Brynheulog, treats the diesel particulate filter while it is still on the vehicle, runs a DPF regeneration, and you keep the filter you started with.
The visit takes typically around 2 hours, the clean opens from £299, and the number is fixed over the phone before anyone travels.
Most owners find us with the light on already, and the car low on power. That is the position this page is meant for.
Your DPF light is showing — what next?
First thing: it is not necessarily the unit. A number of faults put the same light on the identical dash, which is why a visit begins with a diagnostic rather than with cleaning.
How the vehicle is run in the meantime makes a difference too.
- A long constant run may yet manage it, provided the light is amber and the car runs fine. Costs nothing, so attempt that before ringing.
- Motor already fallen into limp mode — that window has gone. A drive will not reach it now.
- A diesel smell in the car, or black smoke under acceleration, is the moment to stop booking long drives and ring.
Signs the car has been sending you
Symptoms have generally been building for some time before the light even arrives. Belated news, in other words:
- tailing off on power, particularly uphill
- revs that will not climb the way they used to
- worse fuel economy
- stop/start without a word giving up
- the interior reeking of diesel, or smoke when you accelerate
On its own, none of that is proof. The light with them indicates a full filter.
Clogged diesel particulate filters around Brynheulog, and the cause
Brynheulog is a residential suburb, and the driving that belongs to one is the poorest sort for a DPF. A regeneration needs the time and heat, and gets not much: not on the school run to the local primary school, not on Hartshorn Terrace at half past eight, not on a few minutes to Filco, and not on the dash to Maesteg. What should burn off stays behind.
Neither is a long way from Brynheulog: under 10 miles to the M4, under 15 miles to Swansea. Neither is on the way to anything most weeks, though, so the drive that would scour a filter simply never gets made.
DPF regeneration, and the point limp mode stops it
What limp mode comes down to is the motor looking after itself. The whole problem is that a sustained drive works by starting a regeneration, and under limp mode the revs will not rise and power is limited.
Taking it up the motorway is the usual advice, and it stands up to a line. Once the vehicle is in limp mode you are beyond that line, and the filter wants treatment rather than road work.
Call-out DPF cleaning where the vehicle stands round Brynheulog
On your front, in a work car park, wherever the car can wait for a while: the job takes place with the filter yet fitted on, which is the detail most owners do not expect.
Nothing is touched until other faults are cleared. That requires a scan first: live data off the ECU, soot load by percent and by weight, and a review of the sensor readings, glow plugs and associated hardware.
A cleaning fluid next goes in through the entry point on that motor, expanding inside the filter to loosen soot and ash a regeneration alone will never move. A second pass is sometimes needed on badly clogged filters.
What the clean has loosened is then burned off by a regeneration. That is a monitored drive out of Brynheulog if you are present, or a static regeneration where the vehicle stands, with the live data read once done.
Finally the scan runs again — the change confirmed, the light cleared, anything still outstanding noted. Both sets of figures come to you by email, so the numbers are kept.
The problems a DPF clean cannot answer
A filter blocked with soot and ash is the one thing treatment fixes. It will not help:
- the wrong figure from a temperature or pressure sensor
- a failed EGR valve
- the AdBlue system playing up
- injectors or glow plugs that prevent a regeneration starting at all
- a turbo putting oil through the filter
That is what the first diagnostic is for. Where it is found to be one of those, you are warned before any work begins rather than after you have paid a penny.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter hollowed out cannot pass its MOT, and driving it is against the law, so that is no solution. What gets typed in as DPF renewal swaps nothing: your existing filter is treated in place and goes back into use.
The figure for DPF cleaning around Brynheulog
Any visit attracts a call-out charge — getting to you, setting up the booking, doing the scan and offering the advice. The clean itself begins from £299.
Naming a flat rate would not be truthful. We agree it by phone, once the vehicle and its likely needs are clear. What you own and where you are both change it: Brynheulog itself, over at Spelter, or further out within the CF postcode area.
Where the diagnostic says cleaning will not do it, you are not asked to pay for a clean. What even so holds is the call-out charge, since the visit took place, the check was done and the advice was given.
If the light returns inside that window, an engineer heads back out to Brynheulog — the job includes a 30-day warranty covering aftercare.
Very clear on all aspects very nice guy who come to clean my dpf good price as they come to your home thanks guys.
Liam was excellent, he did a full clean, but was not satisfied and completed it twice more until the readings were to his satisfaction. Pre and post clean customer service also commendable. Vehicle is now back to full health and driving well.
The service was great. I book for my dpf system to be cleaned and it was done the following day at home. Great work by Liamf along with post service status and maintenance advice.
Where we get to near Brynheulog, and what we clean
Cars, vans of any size and light commercials, heavy goods vehicles, construction and plant machinery, agricultural machinery — a single call-out service across all of them, and on all of them the filter is treated where it sits rather than taken anywhere.
Our engineers are along Hartshorn Terrace most weeks, so Brynheulog is seldom a special trip, and the same run takes in Spelter, Croeserw and the places out past Cymmer. Phone anyway from even further out through Bridgend. Coverage reaches UK-wide, and the date you are offered depends on the schedule rather than how far away you are.

Questions Brynheulog drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Is a long drive enough by itself?
- It can, provided you get it early enough and limp mode has not set in. That calls for motorway speed for a sustained spell, rather than a brief trip to Filco.
- Does the visit run long?
- It is typically around 2 hours. A badly blocked filter can require a second clean, which extends that.
- What does it run to in Brynheulog?
- Beginning from £299, with a charge for travelling that takes in the diagnostic and advice on what to do next. Both the vehicle and where you are change it, which is why settling it is done by phone.
- Is it essential for me to be around?
- A spot for the car to stand, for a couple of hours, is all that is needed. Not you. The regeneration can be carried out as a monitored drive if you would sooner come along.
- How soon can someone come to Brynheulog?
- It is often same-day or next-day, depending on what is currently in the diary. Call 0303 330 1830 and you will know what is open across the CF area.
- The filter — does it come off the vehicle?
- Not on the call-out service — it is cleaned where it sits. Taking a filter off or putting one back on come to anything something we do in either direction.
- What if the light returns?
- Covered by the 30-day warranty: aftercare, and an engineer travelling back to Brynheulog.
