Mobile DPF Cleaner

0303 330 1830

Brighton and Hove Mobile DPF Cleaning, East Sussex

Everything a workshop would need on your DPF is already in the fitted van that arrives at your place across in Brighton and Hove.

The technician pulls up with the equipment in the van and starts where the motor is. The DPF stays on, it's cleaned then regenerated on the car, and once the job's finished your car is ready to use. It runs to around 2 hours, starts from £299, and the figure is agreed on the phone before anyone is sent out.

On-site DPF cleaning around Brighton and Hove, stage by stage

All the mobile unit needs is somewhere to sit, and the car needs a motor that'll turn over periodically.

Past that, it follows the same sequence throughout:

  1. A percentage and a soot weight are pulled off the engine ECU first, together with a test the connected parts, sensors and plugs, before anything is started.
  2. A cleaning agent passes in through the entry point on that car and expands inside the DPF, lifting the soot and ash a regeneration alone will never move.
  3. The DPF regeneration then drives off what the clean has freed, either statically where the vehicle stands or on a monitored trip out of Brighton and Hove if you want to come along.
  4. Then comes a second scan. It proves the change, puts out the warning light out, and reports anything that's still showing.

Both readouts arrive in your inbox afterwards, so you've got the readings from either end of the job.

Where you can have the job done around Brighton and Hove

There is no special need beyond room to stand for the duration.

Which generally means one of these:

  • A drive at a home address across in Brighton and Hove
  • The car park at work
  • The far end of a forecourt
  • A spot off West Street with room to sit
  • For the couple of hours you would be hanging about anyway, the Gardenia car park

The DPF never comes off the vehicle, so there is no call for you to hang about with it.

Diesel particulate filters round Brighton and Hove, and what chokes them

If you travel to and from Brighton and Hove, a coastal city, you're giving the filter exactly the trips it manages worst. Look at the week: St Paul's CofE Primary School and back, North Street at a standstill at half eight, five minutes at Gardenia, a dash to Brighton. None of it goes on long enough or runs hot enough to see through a burn cycle, so the soot just builds up.

Unless you have a regular cause to get out on the M23, under 25 miles from Brighton and Hove, or run over to Chichester under 50 miles away, full weeks slip past without a journey of the sort that scours a filter out.

By the time the light appears, the warning signs have normally been building a while: pull falling off, revs that will not climb properly, a diesel whiff in the interior or dark smoke under acceleration, worse fuel use, and auto stop-start giving up silently.

What call-out DPF cleaning cures, and what it does not

A single fault is fixed by a treatment: the DPF choked with soot and ash. A great many other faults throw that same light on the same dash, which is why there's a check first and nothing is touched until that's complete.

A DPF clean will not touch:

  • A sensor reporting a blockage that is not genuine
  • An EGR valve stuck open
  • A urea system problem
  • Injectors or glow plugs stopping a regeneration from running at all
  • Oil working into the DPF from a faulty turbo

Where the fault lies in any of them, we tell you prior to any work getting going rather than after you have handed over the money for it.

Driving without a functioning DPF is an offence and the vehicle will not clear an MOT, so having the unit cut out solves nothing. Nor is anything exchanged: what people type in as DPF renewal is the same DPF, cleared where it sits and put back to work.

Attempting a long run first

A unit only just starting to fill will often come good without anyone touching it. A further five more minutes to Falmer and back won't be enough. You want the M23, under 25 miles from Brighton and Hove, held at a constant speed — or the long way round to Chichester.

Cleaning where it stands becomes the practical next thing once the light is on and limp mode has arrived, because a long run will no longer reach it.

Mobile DPF cleaning costs around Brighton and Hove

Figures for call-out DPF regeneration start from £299. A call-out charge covers any visit, paying for the call-out, the booking, the check and the steer that comes with it.

The car, and what the unit turns out to need, both shift what a job adds up to — which is why no fixed rate is listed. Say what you drive and roughly whereabouts you sit — Brighton and Hove itself, across at Preston, or elsewhere in the BN postcode area — and you'll have the price prior to anybody travelling.

The work carries a 30-day warranty including aftercare. If that warning light's back inside the term, you'll get a DPF engineer out to Brighton and Hove again.

Which vehicles do we clean DPFs on around Brighton and Hove?

All of these get the same on-site service:

  • Cars of every make
  • Light goods vehicles
  • HGVs
  • Plant gear
  • Farm vehicles and machinery

Working in place is the approach on each one, and it takes place at your door across in Brighton and Hove rather than at our own workshop.

You will want the other route if the vehicle will not turn over at all: the unit comes off, travels to our premises by a courier, and is cleared within 24 hours of reaching us. You will want a garage to take the DPF off and put it back, on either of them.

The engineer was very happy and explained the whole process in plain English and performed the dpf clean expertly and efficiently would recommend them to anyone.

Paul W.

Excellent service from the first phone call, to the completed job! Courteous & knowledgeable everything was explained about the job, very happy with the outcome.

Keith Y.

Timely fix, effective and affable. Engine amber warning light on again this morning but my local garage able to reset it. Just quite expensive. Thanks.

Barry D.

The BN area and Brighton and Hove: our coverage

There's usually a van along North Street most weeks, so Brighton and Hove is seldom a special trip. The same route covers Preston and Kemp Town, and the outlying villages over past Falmer and Southwick.

Phone anyway if you are beyond that across East Sussex. It's the local schedule that settles between today and tomorrow, not the distance — coverage itself runs across the country.

What Brighton and Hove owners ask about on-site DPF cleaning

How much time am I without the vehicle?

You are facing around 2 hours, plus more where the filter needs going over again.

Across Brighton and Hove, how much does mobile DPF cleaning cost?

It starts from £299, and there's a call-out charge on top covering the visit, the check and the steer. No flat rate would work, since the car and the distance both move the price.

Where do you actually do the cleaning?

Either, right across Brighton and Hove or the wider East Sussex area. The DPF doesn't move from the motor — it's cleared exactly where the car sits.

When can an engineer reach Brighton and Hove?

Often the same day or the next, subject to what is already booked. Across the BN area, what is free moves daily, so call 0303 330 1830 and we will say where it is.

Is there a fee if it proves not to be the unit?

You'll cover the call-out fee whatever happens, because the technician has driven out, checked the vehicle and told you what's actually wrong. What you will not receive is a bill for cleaning that did not take place.

What happens if that warning light returns?

You are sent a technician back out to Brighton and Hove, underwritten by the 30-day warranty.

How many months before I need it doing again?

It hinges on how you run it from then on. Short trips over to Preston and back don't do much. A longer run out past Chichester, or on the M23, does far more.
