Mobile DPF Cleaning in Boscombe and Dorset

With mobile DPF cleaning, we come to the car. No workshop, no filter coming off. A technician drives out to your place over in Boscombe, treats the diesel particulate filter in place, runs a DPF regeneration, and you end up with the filter you arrived with.

Allow for the visit taking typically around 2 hours. The clean opens from £299, agreed over the phone before anyone sets off.

If the light is showing and the car is low on power, this page is yours. That is how most people end up here.

Your DPF light is on — what next?

Not the DPF, always. First thing to get straight. That light can follow plenty of faults, not merely one, so the visit begins with a diagnostic and not with treatment.

The use you do in the meantime counts. That is the second thing.

  • Amber light, vehicle even now driving normally — a long constant run can yet clear it by itself. Costs zero, and worth trying before you call anything.
  • Vehicle already fallen into limp mode — that window has closed. A drive will not reach it now.
  • Stop booking long drives and get it checked if the car stinks of diesel or there is black smoke when you pull away.

Before the light, what the car was telling you

Belated news, the light. The symptoms generally mount for a while before it arrives:

  • pulling uphill, the power drops away
  • you notice the revs never reach where they once went
  • the fuel economy is poorer
  • quietly, the stop/start packs in
  • smoke under acceleration, or a diesel smell in there

Any one of those, taken by itself, is not conclusive. Alongside the light alongside them, the filter is a fair assumption.

The reason diesel particulate filters clog near Boscombe

For a DPF, the worst motoring is the sort you find in a residential suburb such as Boscombe. A regeneration wants long enough and heat, and gets not much: not on the school run to St Clement's and St John's Church of England Infant School, not on Windsor Road at half past eight, not on five minutes to Kubuš, and not on the hop to Pokesdown. The soot that should burn away collects instead.

Unless you have a standing cause to get out to the M27, under 25 miles from Boscombe, or over to Southampton under 25 miles away, weeks pass without a long steady stint. Geography is against you.

DPF regeneration, and the point limp mode stops it

It is self-protection: that is all limp mode is. Power is capped, the revs will not pull, and the regeneration the filter requires can no longer happen — which is the whole problem, because a proper drive works by triggering that regeneration.

So the usual advice to run it up the motorway is sound advice, until it is not. In limp mode you are the far side of that point: a clean is what will work, not more road work.

The blocked filter cleaned after a warning light in Boscombe, Dorset

DPF cleaning at the vehicle in Boscombe

Nothing leaves the motor. That catches out people. The DPF stays fitted where it is and the work goes on around it, on a forecourt, in a works car park, any place it can wait for a few hours.

The ECU is taken first, giving soot load by percentage and by weight, along with a look over of sensor readings, glow plugs and related hardware, so nothing is cleaned while another fault is still in play.

After that comes the clean itself: a cleaning solution in through the car's own entry point, opening out inside the filter and freeing what a regeneration never can. Where the filter is badly blocked, expect a second pass.

A regeneration comes next, burning off what the clean has freed. Either it runs as a monitored drive out of Boscombe, with you present, or it runs where the motor waits and the real-time data is verified after.

Both read-outs go over by email, so the figures from either end are kept. The second check is what verifies the change, clears the light and lists whatever is still outstanding.

When a DPF clean is not the fix

Only one fault is fixed by a clean: the filter blocked with ash and soot. It does nothing for:

  • pressure sensors showing a blockage that is not there
  • the EGR valve jammed open
  • AdBlue system problems
  • faulty glow plugs or injectors, so never a regeneration ever runs
  • oil passing through the filter from a faulty turbo

The first diagnostic is there for just that. When it is found to be one of those, you are warned before any work begins rather than after you have settled up anything.

A couple more worth noting. Leaving the filter cut out is not a fix — a vehicle without a functioning DPF will fail its MOT and driving it is illegal. And cleaning is sometimes looked up as DPF renewal: nothing is replaced, your original filter is treated in place and returned into use.

DPF cleaning prices across Boscombe

Treatment opens from £299, with the call-out charge on top of that for every visit — it covers the call-out, the booking, the diagnostics and the advice.

The price is settled on the phone, once we have the vehicle and what the filter is apt to need. No flat rate could be straight. The motor changes it, and so does the location — Boscombe, Springbourne, or anywhere otherwise out in the BH postcode area.

If the check writes treatment out, there is not a penny to pay for it. Because the visit, the diagnostic and the advice have happened, the call-out charge still applies.

Aftercare is included by a 30-day warranty: should the light come back within it, an engineer comes back to Boscombe.

Vehicles we clean, and where we travel around Boscombe

Cars and estates, vans of any size and light commercials, HGVs and lorries, plant machinery, agricultural machinery — one mobile service across all of them, and on all of them the filter is done in place rather than carried anywhere.

Our engineers are along Windsor Road nearly every week, so Boscombe is seldom a journey of its own, and the same run takes in Springbourne, Littledown and the spots out past Bournemouth. It is the calendar, not the distance, that picks whether it is today or tomorrow, and coverage runs UK-wide — so phone still from further out through Dorset.

What Boscombe drivers wonder about DPF cleaning

Is a long drive enough alone?
It may, provided you spot it early and limp mode has not set in. It takes a steady run at motorway speed, not five minutes or so to Kubuš and back.
Roughly how long does it run?
Count on typically around 2 hours, with a second clean lengthening that where the filter is heavily clogged.
What does it run to across Boscombe?
It opens from £299, plus the call-out charge covering the visit, the check and the advice. The vehicle and your address both change the figure, so we price on the phone.
Do I have to be there?
No. The motor requires space to sit for a couple of hours; you need not stand with it. The regeneration can be run as a monitored drive if you would rather be there.
When can someone travel to Boscombe?
It is often same-day or next-day, depending on what is now in the diary. Ring 0303 330 1830 and you will hear what is available across the BH area.
The filter — does it leave the vehicle?
Treated where it stands, on this service, so no. That job — a filter off, a filter back on — is not a job we do.
What if the light returns?
An engineer comes back out to Boscombe — the 30-day warranty includes aftercare.
