The light is last news. By the time it shows, the symptoms have normally been growing for a while:
- less power, particularly going uphill
- you notice the revs stop short of where they always went
- worse fuel use
- a stop/start that has meekly given up
- smoke under the throttle, or a diesel smell in there
On its own, none of that is evidence. The light beside them indicates a loaded filter.
Why diesel particulate filters block around Bordlands
