Mobile DPF Cleaning covering Aysgarth, North Yorkshire
The vehicle stays where it is — call-out DPF cleaning goes to it. No body shop, no filter leaving. A fitter drives out to your place over in Aysgarth, cleans the diesel particulate filter as it sits, runs a DPF regeneration, and you hold on to the filter you came with.
Nobody travels until the figure is settled over the phone. The visit lasts typically around 2 hours and the clean starts from £299.
The light is showing and the car is short of power — that is how we usually find people, and roughly what this page is about.
Your DPF light is showing — what next?
Not the filter, automatically. Opening thing to note. A scan happens before any work, because that same panel light has several likely faults behind it.
It matters what you do with the car between now and the appointment.
- Motor even now driving fine on an amber light — try a long even run first. It costs zero and frequently shifts the filter without help.
- Vehicle already fallen into limp mode — that window has shut. A drive will not touch it now.
- A diesel smell in there, or black smoke under hard acceleration, is the point to stop planning long drives and book it in.
The car has been warning you already
Last news, the light. The symptoms tend to build for weeks before it appears:
- less power, particularly climbing uphill
- an engine whose revs will not pull as they should
- worse fuel economy
- a stop/start that has silently packed in
- diesel in the cabin, or smoke on the way up through the gearbox
Any one of those, taken by itself, is not evidence. Next to the light with them, the filter is a fair assumption.
What clogs diesel particulate filters around Aysgarth
Aysgarth is a village, and the driving that belongs to one is the least kind type for a DPF. A regeneration takes the time and heat, and has neither: not on the school run to Askrigg Voluntary Controlled Primary School, not on Jammy Hill at half eight, not on a few minutes to R. Campbell & Sons, and not on the hop to the nearest station. Soot that should burn away collects instead.
Geography does not help either. The Catterick Bypass is under 25 miles from Aysgarth and Ripon is under 25 miles away, so unless something carries you out that way routinely, weeks go by without the long steady run that might empty the filter by itself.
Why limp mode stops a DPF regeneration
What limp mode amounts to is the motor looking after itself. Pulling power is held down, the revs will not rise, and the regeneration the filter needs can not complete — which is the real problem, because a long drive works by starting that regeneration.
The common advice — get it up the motorway — is good, right until it is not. The filter requires cleaning rather than driving once the vehicle has gone into limp mode.
DPF cleaning at the car across Aysgarth
Nothing is taken from the car. That surprises people. The DPF sits fixed where it is and the work is done around it, on a forecourt, in a works car park, anywhere it can stand for a few hours.
The ECU is taken first, giving soot load by percentage and by weight, along with a look over of sensor readings, glow plugs and connected hardware, so nothing is started while another fault is still in play.
A solution then is injected through the entry point on that vehicle, spreading inside the filter to free soot and ash a regeneration by itself will never shift. A second pass is sometimes needed on severely blocked filters.
Next, a regeneration clears everything the clean lifted. Stay with the vehicle and it becomes a monitored drive out of Aysgarth. Drop it and the regeneration runs statically, with live data read once it is done.
Both reports are sent by email, so the figures from either end are on record. The second scan is what confirms the change, clears the light and logs whatever is still outstanding.
When a DPF clean is not the solution
A clean cures one thing: a filter choked with soot and ash. It does no good for:
- a pressure or temperature sensor reporting a block that is not there
- a failed EGR valve
- AdBlue system faults
- worn glow plugs or injectors, so never a regeneration ever starts
- oil working through the filter from a failing turbo
That is what the first check is for. Where it is found to be one of those, you are let know before any work begins rather than after you have handed over anything.
Two more worth noting. Having the filter hollowed out is not a solution — a vehicle without a serviceable DPF will fail its MOT and driving it is illegal. And cleaning is sometimes looked up as DPF renewal: nothing is swapped, your existing filter is treated in place and put back into use.
The figure for DPF cleaning across Aysgarth
Every visit takes a call-out charge — coming out to you, setting up the booking, doing the scan and passing on the advice. The clean itself opens from £299.
No single flat rate would be honest, so the number is fixed on the phone once we are told the vehicle and what the filter is going to need. A pair of things move it: what you own, and where you are — Aysgarth itself, out at Carperby, or farther out in the DL postcode area.
If the check counts a clean out, there is not a penny to pay for it. What even so holds is the call-out charge, since the visit took place, the scan was done and the advice was passed on.
The job comes with a 30-day warranty covering aftercare, including an engineer heading back out to Aysgarth if the light comes back inside that time.
Brilliant company! Highly recommend! came out to us next day! Paid an upfront fee over the phone which was reasonable and they didn't even charge us for the outstanding balance due to a damage DPF. Such lovely people, honest, reliable, trustworthy professional company would definitely use/recommend. Thanks again Guys.
Dave was really helpful, cleaned my DPF and fixed the fault codes. He also identified another issue with my van. Would highly recommend using this company.
Thank you Igor for resolving the dpf issue with my vw cc on 15.7.24. Kudos to the back office team as well for answering my questions beforehand. Vroom, vroom!
The vehicles we clean and the patch we take in round Aysgarth
One call-out service spans cars, vans and light commercials, HGVs, plant machinery and farm vehicles, and on every one the filter is cleaned on the vehicle rather than moved anywhere.
Our engineers are along Jammy Hill nearly every week, so Aysgarth is hardly ever a journey of its own, and the same run takes in Carperby, Newbiggin and the places out past Thoralby. Ring anyway from even further out around North Yorkshire. Coverage runs UK-wide, and the day you get comes down to the schedule rather than how far away you are.

What Aysgarth drivers wonder about DPF cleaning
- Is a long drive enough on its own?
- Sometimes, if you spot it early and the vehicle has not slipped into limp mode. A long run at motorway speed is what it wants — not ten minutes flat to R. Campbell & Sons and back.
- Does the visit take long?
- That is typically around 2 hours, though a heavily blocked filter can take cleaning twice, which runs on.
- What does it run to in Aysgarth?
- A clean begins from £299, and the call-out charge on top covers the visit, the diagnostic and the advice. Both the vehicle and where you are change it, which is why settling it goes by phone.
- Is it essential for me to be there?
- A spot for the car to wait, for a couple of hours, is all that is wanted. Not you. Come along if you would rather, and the regeneration turns into a watched drive.
- When can someone get to Aysgarth?
- Depending on the diary, often same-day or next-day is typical. Phone 0303 330 1830 what is open across the DL area.
- Will the filter be lifted off?
- Cleaned where it stands, on this service, so no. That job — a filter off, a filter back on — is not work we do.
- Suppose the light reappears?
- Aftercare sits inside the 30-day warranty, and that includes an engineer coming back to Aysgarth.
