Last news, the light. The symptoms tend to build for a while before it shows:
- climbing uphill, the power drops away
- you see the revs stop short of where they used to go
- fuel use that is worse than it used to be
- a stop/start that has silently bowed out
- a diesel smell in the interior, or smoke under hard acceleration
Alone, none of that is evidence. It is a fair bet the filter is full once the light is showing too.
Why diesel particulate filters clog round Ardgartan
