What the motor has been showing you
Symptoms have normally been mounting for weeks before the light so much as appears. Belated news, in other words:
- less power, above all climbing uphill
- the revs no longer climb the way they always did
- worse fuel consumption
- the stop/start without a word bowing out
- a diesel smell in the interior, or smoke under acceleration
Any one of those, taken singly, is not conclusive. The light alongside them indicates a full filter.
Why diesel particulate filters choke near Annsborough
