Symptoms have normally been growing for some time before the light even shows. Last news, in other words:
- climbing uphill, the power drops away
- revs that will not rise the way they once did
- fuel use that is worse than it was
- stop/start without a word bowing out
- a diesel smell in the cabin, or smoke under the throttle
None of that is conclusive on its own. With the light, it is a fair assumption the filter is blocked.
What clogs diesel particulate filters around Achiemore
